Wisener, Magdelina “Lena” of Vulcan, peacefully passed away at Vulcan Extendicare September 11, 2023 at the age of 103 years.
Lena was born at Marianthal, Saskatchewan, daughter of Michael and Katherine Ehrmantraut. Lena left the family farm near Bienfait, Saskatchewan in the early 1940’s to work in Ottawa as a clerk for the war effort, registering military men and women until 1946. That job ended and she was offered another job in Calgary to work as a data processor. She met the love of her life, George Wisener, after a Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral in 1950. Jacob ‘Jake’ Elias of Vulcan, AB, beloved husband of Mary, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on September 1, 2023 at the age of 95 years.
Jake was born September 6, 1927 at Stanley, MB, youngest son of Johann and Maria Elias. He was raised in Manitoba and has resided with his loving family in Vulcan since 1968. He was employed with Coop Implements in Manitoba and Vulcan until his retirement.

Catherine Susan Norma (nee: Small) Davis “Cathy Sue” passed away August 22, 2023 in Calgary at the age of 39 years.
Beloved mother of Riley, Macey and Grady Werewka of Taber, a daughter Maya of Vulcan, her husband Reed Davis of Vulcan, two brothers Robert (Julie) Powers of Hinton, James Small of Vulcan, and a sister Susan (Glen) Schmeelke. Cathy Sue was well known as Cousin Sibling to Kolby (Michael Williams and son Edward), Wade and Travis Schmeelke and numerous nieces and nephews. Wade passed away suddenly at the age of 39 years . He is survived by his parents Rodney and Sandra, brothers Lee and Jonathan ( Di Anne), Grandmother Jean Schuiling along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He graduated High School in Vulcan, Alberta and completed his Heavy Equipment Technician certification as well as completing Welding courses. He was never afraid of hard work and always needed to be busy.

LEONA GERTRUDE DILSE (nee: Lund), fighting the brave battle of Alzheimer’s, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, at the age of 93 years.
Born on April 23, 1929, in Nobleford, AB, she graduated in 1947 from Bow Valley Central High, Cluny, AB. She lived in Queenstown, AB with her parents Charles (Charlie) and Gertrude Lund, and sister Helene Henrickson. At the age of 19, she married Leo Bottom in Vulcan, AB in 1948. Alvin William Shield, of Milo, Alberta passed away on August 6, 2023 in the Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 82 years.
Alvin was born Aug. 29, 1940 in Bassano, Alberta to William (Bill) and Gladys Shield. He was raised on the family farm near Milo, the eldest of four children, and received his schooling there as well. Al was well known in the community growing up, playing sports, fixing up cars, and as a hired hand on local farms and ranches. Alvin worked with the county road crew building the Vulcan highway as a teenager and followed rodeo and chuckwagon

Deanna Alvira Nelson, the youngest of 10, was born on April 14, 1937, to Emanuel and Viola Rushfeldt of Vulcan. Deanna passed peacefully on July 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Deanna attended the Red Cross School north of Vulcan through to grade 5, then took grades 6 – 11 at Vulcan. Deanna married Christian (Chris) Nelson of Queenstown on April 24, 1954. Together, over 69 years they raised 5 sons and 2 daughters, Garry, Rod, Ward, Alvin, Cathy, Gord, and Christa.

Graff, Helene (Koss) Nee: Wagner, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 102 years.
Helene was born to Julianna and Reinhold Wagner on March 23, 1921 on her parents’ farm near Roblin, Manitoba. She was the third child in a family that was blessed with fourteen children. After leaving home, she worked as a maid in the Hamiota and Brandon areas of Manitoba.
On November 22, 1942, Helene married Albert Otto Koss. She joined him in Winnipeg and then in Esquimalt where Al served in the army. She found employment at the Yarrows Shipyard working

The family of Ruth Richardson is very sad to announce her passing on December 12, 2022 at Agecare Columbia in Lethbridge at the age of 87. Ruth battled health challenges over the last few years, but age and Dialysis ultimately took their toll.
Ruth has been laid to rest beside her husband George. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the Vulcan Culture & Recreation Centre (504-4 Ave S).

Catharine ‘Diane’ Boon of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare on May 26, 2023.
Diane is survived by her beloved daughter Laurie (Russell) Bradford, two granddaughters Brandy (Russ) Bradford-Morin and Casey (Chris) Bradford , and three great grandchildren – Evelyn, Ivy and William. She was predeceased by her parents and husband Bill in 1996.
At Diane’s request, there will not be a formal service at this time.
