The family of David Dietrich of Lomond, are saddened to announce his sudden passing as a result of a motor vehicle accident, on November 20, 2023 at the age of 63 years.
David was born August 23, 1960 at Lethbridge, AB, 7th child of Lloyd and Eileen Dietrich. He started his schooling in Lomond but moved to Lethbridge after his dad had a stroke and finished High School independently in Calgary.
Throughout his life, David worked on various oil rigs, working his way up to Wellsite Supervisor. He loved doing numerous activities with his family, including skiing, tubing off the coulees, swimming, cooking and dancing on the deck.
Besides his wife Rachelle, David is survived by his 3 daughters – Josie (Jason) Welland, Crimson Dietrich and Hailey Dietrich, his siblings – Dale Dietrich, Judy (Darrell) Gillespie, Bob (Kathy) Dietrich, Larry (Sandy) Dietrich and Maryanne (Kirk) Thurlow, sister-in-law Paula Dietrich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Eileen Dietrich, nephew Dory Dietrich, brothers Ted and Allan Dietrich, sisters-in-law Judy Dietrich and Donna Dietrich.
A Memorial Come and Go will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Seniors Drop-In Center, Lomond, AB. A Celebration of Life will also be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2 pm to 6 pm, at the Calgary Rugby Club, 9025 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary.

David was one of my favourite people. He had a reputation for being tough as nails but he was the most kind hearted, gentle and loving man I have ever met. He loved all animals and he adored his girls. Rest in peace Dave. You will be deeply missed.
