ENGEN, Marion Mary 1920 – 2009

Engen, Marion Mary passed away December 22, 2009 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 89 years.
Loving mother of two sons Robert (Anna) and Charles (Virginia), two grandchildren Kristy and Robert, a sister Gwen Coskey numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Leonard, Marion was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and a sister.
Inurnment at Vulcan Cemetery at a later date.

Bill passed away peacefully on June 21, 2010 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre in the presence of his loving wife Lynn. Bill spent his youth in Ogden playing baseball and hockey. He attended Michigan Tech on a hockey scholarship where he acquired his geology degree. While attending Michigan Tech, he played goal for a Chicago Blackhawks farm team. Lahd, Claire Levona passed away August 11, 2010 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 91 years.
Clair was born February 6, 1919 at Calgary and was raised in the Gleichen/Arrowwood area. She married Orden Lahd of Queenstown in 1940 and they settled on a farm in the Queenstown area after the war. They raised five children. Dancing, music, quilting and knitting were her hobbies and she was a member of the WI for many years. In her later years, Claire became quite a good artist working in oils and ceramics.

Wilma Flitton, devoted mother and wife, spunky grandmother and inspiring aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at Vulcan Community Health Centre Long Term Care on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the age of 93 years. She was born on December 12, 1916 in Archie Missouri to Mabel and William Ohler. Along with older siblings, Irene and Ivan, Wilma spent her childhood working on the family farm and going to the one-room Prairieville School. Harris, Charles Ross or “Chuck” as he was known by his friends, passed away March 19, 2010, at Calgary, Alberta at the age of 74 years.

Bill worked with his siblings on the family dairy farm just outside of High River until 1950, started with Farm Electric in 1950, married the love of his life Jean on April 11, 1953 (beginning their life-long venture together), joined Calgary Power (Transalta) in 1955, living in a trailer for a few years, Gleichen until 1981 then Vulcan where he finished his career retiring in 1984.
