It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erik Esko on March 16, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
Erik was born July 16, 1929 at Overtornea, Sweden where he served in the Army. He came to Canada and worked as a professional painter for many years until retiring in 1994. Erik was well known as the guy with paint on his shoes who never left anything unpainted.
Eric married Gladys Newbury and they spent many good times skiing at Banff, Lake Louise and Mount Norquay. They also enjoyed spending weekends together in

Baldwin, Lenora Katherine passed away peacefully at Vulcan Community Health Centre March 5, 2010 at the age of 92 years.
Loving mother of a daughter Marilyn (Grant) Wolfe of Champion and a son David (Sharon) of Red Deer, four grandchildren Katy (Tyler) Junck, Sheldon (Evangeline) Wolfe, Chelsea (Shaun) Richer and Evan Baldwin (Terri Anderson), three great grandchildren, a brother Ken Rubie, numerous nieces and nephews.
Lenora was predeceased by her husband Lee in 1979, an infant son, three brothers Frank, Les and Herb Rubie, a sister Evelyn and her parents.

Miller, David Lester was called home to his Lord and Savior March 6, 2010 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 75 years.
David was born on March 31, 1934 at Saint John, New Brunswick. He was the youngest of eight children born to John Frederick and Annie Louise Miller. In 1955 David married Velma Audrey Ryder. Ruppert, Peter Stephen passed away at Vulcan, Alberta February 12, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Pete was born March 10, 1920 at Graystones, Alberta to Frank and Margaret Ruppert. He met Anna Chase and they were married on November 1, 1942. Pete proudly served his country with the 65th Tank Transport Division in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked in Special Areas and was assigned to work in Lomond in 1949. Harry was born on the homestead March 2, 1913 at Faith, Alberta to William and Minnie Peters the youngest of three boys. The family resided there until 1927 when they left the homestead to farm at Vulcan. Harry met Dorothy Rodgers at a dance and they were married on November 14, 1940 at Stavely. Elder, Charles Alfred “Charlie” passed away at Calgary, Alberta January 28, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Charlie was born May 28, 1920 at Olinville, Queens County, New Brunswick to Ernest and Margaret Elder. He attended Olinville school until grade eight when he went to work on a farm. Charlie was able to purchase his first car a 1930 Ford Sedan at the age of 16. He moved to St. Johns to work at a Barker grocery, stalking shelves and delivering groceries. Copley, Dr. Mary Catherine Armey of Bay Village, Sarasota, Florida passed away January 15, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Mary Catherine was born June 25, 1920 and raised at Vulcan, Alberta. She earned her B.Sc., M.D. and FACOG at the University of Alberta, Edmonton and practiced medicine at Pittsburgh, Pa. Mary Catherine married Jim Copley in 1969. In the early 70’s she and her husband served two years in the Peace Corps in Malawi, Africa and in the 80’s retired to Florida.

Rupp, Gloria Hazel, beloved wife of the late Alfred, passed away January 25, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
Gloria was born October 21, 1925 in Medicine Hat, AB and moved with her family to Champion when she was four years old. She attended school in Champion and then worked there as a telephone operator. Daniells, Bruce Karl passed away January 19, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
Bruce was born March 20, 1928 in the Township of Maryborough near Kitchener, Ontario to Maurice and Lydia Daniells. He was one of nine children. As a young man, Bruce worked for a meat market and a shirt and shoe factory. His first love was and always remained, horses.
