Marshman, Donald Clifford “Don” passed away July 8, 2009 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 78 years
Don was born at Champion, Alberta on March 10, 1931 to Clifford and Elizabeth Marshman. He was raised on the family farm one mile east of Vulcan. Don loved farming and took over the family farm. He married Rae Simpson on December 4, 1971 and she passed away on April 24, 1991. Don continued to live on the family farm until March,1998. He then became a resident in the Long Term Care Unit of the Vulcan Hospital and was one of their longest residents .
Don loved to fish, camp and take short trips to various places. He was an ardent gardener and loved flowers especially gladiolas. Don always planted according to the moon and loved to read the Farmers Almanac.
Don is survived by sister-in-law Mildred Marshman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don is predeceased by his wife Rae, two half brothers Les (Margaret) and Howie, half sister Phyllis (Earl) Ericksen and his parents.
Funeral service Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Vulcan Church of Christ with Reverend Doug Barrie officiating.
Honorary bearers Brian Todd, Ray Bagozzi, Wayne Anderson, Norma Daniels andHannah McDonald.
Casket bearers Gordon Marshman, Earl Marshman, Eric Erickson, SheldonAnderson, Bill Roebuck and Brent McBean
Interment Vulcan Cemetery.
