WHALLEY, Alan Charlton – 1926-2010

Whalley, Alan Charlton passed away June 12, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 83 years.

Alan was born on August 10, 1926 at Farnworth, Lanshire, England to Alice and Charlton Whalley. He received all his education in England. Alan fabricated sheet metal parts for airplanes for a living. He retired in 1992 and immigrated to Canada.

Alan was an avid gardener and kept his house and yard clean. He enjoyed living alone but loved to share the fruits of his labor with his friends and neighbors. Alan kept physically active and still chopped wood and shoveled snow. He had a loved of animals especially cattle. Alan’s hobbies included building models and he was building a model of Lancaster Bomber airplane. He was very passionate about hockey and enjoyed watching the game.

Alan is survived by three daughters Tina (Greg) Scott, Angela Wong (Peter Filipionek), Mary (Graham) McInulty, two sons Jon, Robert (Sharon) and twelve grandchildren.

Alan was predeceased by his brother Frank and his parents..

A family gathering will be held at a later date.
