George Henry Royer
January 25, 1928 to December 25, 2023
With sadness we announce the passing of long term area resident of Vulcan, Alberta, George Henry Royer on December 25 at the age of 95 years.
Born January 25, 1928, George was raised in the small town of Arrowwood, Alberta where he grew up under less than luxurious conditions. George worked for many years as a commercial fisherman at McGregor Lake. His true love was riding his motorcycle which he rode into his early 80s.
George is survived by his sister, Helen Newton-Maeers, twelve nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Della and Aaron Royer, four brothers, Jake, Irwin, Earl, and David.
George processed a quick wit; combined with a rugged manly strength that is rarely seen in today’s society. George’s passion for life and his sense of humor will be missed.
Family thanks Vulcan Extendicare for George’s care over his later years.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Vulcan Cemetery.
Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home. Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.
George has been my friend for 15 years. There are not enough words to express for this kind, caring man. Always made me laugh and smile. Had a memory like non other. George was like a grandfather to me. George I am going to miss you and hearing your laugh, reminiscing about your life adventure’s, and family. Also telling me everything is going to be fine., I am tough. Always in my heart.
Susan
