HORBACHEWSKY, Rita Elizabeth – 1930-2010

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rita, beloved wife, mother and grandmother on November 28th at the age of 80 with her family by her side. Rita was born in Timmins, Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1956.

Rita is survived by Julius, her husband of 53 years, her older brother James Cuthbertson of Kingston, ON, her children Joey, Tamra (Tom) Hillis, Donna (Frank) Jakowski, Danny, Suzy (Kevin) Love, her beloved grandchildren, Tanya Hillis, Teresa (Sean) Mills (Hillis), Kimberly and Kelsey Jakowski, Jason, Kaitlyn and Robert Love and Cyhrus Horbachewsky.

The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to all the staff at the Vulcan Palliative Care for their care and compassion.

A celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Saturda, December 4, 2010 from 1 to 3 pm at the Strathmore Seniors Centre (85 Lakeside Boulevard).

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in memory of Rita be made to the Vulcan Community Health Centre Palliative Care, Box 299, Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0 or the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1331-29 St. NW, Calgary T2N 4N2.
