Thressa Grace Dingwall Longtime resident of Banff, passed away September 8, 2003 at the Rockyview Hospital, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 89 years.

Grace was born October 29, 1913 at Brant, Alberta to Robert and Tressia Dingwall. She attended Richmond Hill School and Normal School in Calgary. After graduation, Grace moved to Banff to work for the Banff School of Fine Arts. She taught there for one year but due to failing eye sight could not continue teaching. Grace then supervised the dorms at school and later worked in the cafeteria. She worked for the Banff School for a total of twenty years. After leaving the employ of the Banff School, Grace then volunteered at the White Museum in Banff for twelve years. She continued to reside in Banff until moving to Calgary in 2003.

Grace enjoyed doing needle work, knitting and crocheting. She traveled a lot, loved the mountains and hiking. The church was always Grace’s mainstay.

Grace is survived by her brother-in-law John Wilson of Vulcan, sister-in-law Mary Dingwall of Calgary, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Grace was predeceased by four brothers Gordon, Louis, Roy and George, two sisters Rea Dingwall and Elizabeth Wilson, one sister-in-law Pat Dingwall, her niece Sharon Dingwall and her parents.

Funeral Service Friday September 12, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at Vulcan Legion Hall with Willis Propp and Merlin Howlett officiating.

Honorary Bearers were All of Graces friends.

Casket Bearers were Brian Buehler, Randy Buehler, Steven Rieger, Jerry Belanger, Dave Shulman and Don Zabloski.

Internment Vulcan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers tributes in Graces’s memory could be made to Banff Centre for Continuing Education, Station #4 Development, P.O. Box 1020 Banff, Alberta T1L 1H5.
