Cutforth, Ada May passed away June 18, 2010 at Vulcan at the age of 91 years.
Ada was born on April 3, 1919 at Carmangay, Alberta to John and Elizabeth Akitt. She was one of eight children. Ada grew up east of Carmangay where she developed her love of the outdoors and sports. She married Alfred Vaage in 1939 and raised seven children east of Champion on Snake Valley Farm. Alfred passed away in 1978. Ada married Art Cutforth in 1984 and lived on the farm near Vulcan until Art’s passing. Ada moved into Vulcan and loved spending time with her children and their families. She enjoyed her flowers, golfing, watching curling, traveling, spending time at the Seniors’ Center and found comfort in her faith within her church.
Ada will be lovingly remembered by her children Yvonne (Jack) Lelond, Lois (Angus) McCulloch, Darrel (Lynne) Vaage, Diane (David) Lundgren, Myna (Gord) Tebbutt, Alvin (Faith) Vaage, Marvin (Bev) Vaage, twenty-one granchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister Belle Green, three sisters-in-law Leona Akitt, Mabel Jordan, Agnes Hegland, extended family Wayne (Louise) Cutforth, Gerald (Glenda) Cutforth, Dorothy Cutforth and their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ada was predeceased by her first husband Alfred, second husband Art, beloved grandson Grant Lundgren and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral service Friday, June 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Champion Congregational Church with Pastor David Skinner officiating.
Private family interment Archmount Memorial Gardens, Lethbridge.
