Whalley, Alan Charlton passed away June 12, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 83 years.
Alan was born on August 10, 1926 at Farnworth, Lanshire, England to Alice and Charlton Whalley. He received all his education in England. Alan fabricated sheet metal parts for airplanes for a living. He retired in 1992 and immigrated to Canada.
Alan was an avid gardener and kept his house and yard clean. He enjoyed living alone but loved to share the fruits of his labor with his friends and neighbors. Alan kept physically active and still chopped

Schierman, John was called home to his Lord and Savior November 6, 2009 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 93 years.
John was born February 20, 1916 at Calgary, Alberta to John Sr and Mary Schierman. He attended Sandy Point School near Hilda, Alberta, Riverside Elementary in Calgary, Giffen School  near Queenstown, Langevin in Calgary  and SAIT.   He married Wilhelmina Rausch in Calgary in May 1942.  They farmed at Queenstown until 1947 when  they purchased the Charlie Hay farm  near Vulcan. John retired in 1975 and moved into Vulcan where he resided until his passing.

Armando was born March 17, 1938 at Pazin, Croatia to Lucia and Antonio Russian. The war, which started shortly after, made life difficult for him and his family. The family was moved from on refugee camp to another. When the war ended, life for Armando did not improve as he had to grow up under communist rule.
