ANDROSOFF, Annie   1918 – 2005

Annie Androsoff of Vulcan, Alberta passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the age of 86 years.

Annie was born November 12, 1918 at Brilliant, BC to William and Vera Zaytsoff. She attended school in Brilliant until moving to Queenstown, Alberta in 1927. Annie attended Queenstown school from 11-14 years of age and then moved back to Brilliant where she finished her schooling. She returned to Alberta in 1933.

Annie married Fred Androsoff on November 8, 1936 at Mossleigh and Queenstown area. They lived two miles south of Mossleigh. In April 1937 they moved to Thorsby and rented and bought property that they cleared. They raised milk cows and Annie was great at milking the cows. In 1943 they moved to Queenstown and helped Annie’s parents with their farm. They also purchased their own land and raised cattle and horses. In 1953 Annie and Fred moved to Calgary to live but still continued to farm. Annie actively helped in the farming operation, with the cattle and gardening, growing organic vegetables. They sold organic vegetables to the Calgary health food stores from 1985-1995. They also owned and operated a mobile home park in Bowden from 1988 – 1998. In the fall of 1998 they moved to Vulcan. Annie lived at home until January, 2005 when she went into the hospital.

Annie loved gardening and working. She grew raspberries and strawberries and gave lots away. Annie was also a fabulous cook and was a vegetarian. In her younger years Annie crocheted.

Beloved wife of Fred, loving mother of a son Stephen all of Vulcan, a daughter Irene (Arthur) Renneberg of Lacombe, four grandchildren Wendy (Bob) Renneberg-Nelson of Spruce Grove, Stephanie Schulze of Strathmore, Jennifer Androsoff of Calgary, Rory Androsoff of New Brunswick, five great grand children Eric, Christie, Michael, Jade and Hailey, a sister Laura Samaroden of Fort McMurray and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annie was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Verashagin, a half sister Mable (Pete) Negrave, two half brothers Pete Zaytsoff, Bill (Polly) Zaytsoff and her parents.

Funeral service Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel at Rocky View Cemetery, Hwy1 at Garden Road, Calgary with Pastor Larry Vibert officiating.

Casket bearers Stephen Androsoff, Arthur Renneberg, Larry Androsoff, Bill Skinner, Bill Frank and Larry Negrave.
