WINCH, Alvin John    1944 – 2022

Alvin John Winch of Milo, beloved husband of Sheila, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB on December 28, 2022 at the age of 78 years.

Alvin was born July 20, 1944 in Bassano, AB to Hugh & Bernice Winch.

Besides his loving wife Sheila, Alvin is survived by his four daughters – Deb Schiller, Louise (Kevin) Krebs, Carla Winch and Kristal Winch, 5 grandchildren Colby (Katie) Schiller, Courtney (Shane) Smith, Rebecca, Brooke and Eryn Krebs, 2 great grandchildren Royce & Audrey Smith. Siblings Dorothy Boyd, Marvin Winch, Carol (Bruce) Henry, Frances (Earl) Auvigne, Margaret Seebeck and Lyle (Joan) Winch and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Bernice Winch brother in-laws Gordon Boyd, Calvin Seebeck & Melvin Beagle and sister-in-law Myrna Winch

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the Milo Community Hall. Family Interment O’ Perfect Peace Cemetery, Milo, AB.

Tributes in Alvin’s memory can be made to the Milo Development Co-op (Restaurant), Box 201, Milo, AB T0L 1L0.

    Our condolences to the entire family, close friends and neighbours. Sorry to hear of Alvin’s death. We enjoyed our brief time with him this summer up in Fort McMurray. He was a kind man and a good storyteller.

    I will miss my long time friend of 75 years, as grew up together on neighboring farms. We went to school and in the same grade for many years. My condolences to the family and all his many friends. I am sick at heart to lose him.

    Dear Sheila and family, we were sad to hear the news about Alvin. Time between our visits seemed to shorten, once we started talking and catching up. He will be missed by many.
