DAVID ARNOLD WATT 1948 – 2016

With heavy hearts we announce David Arnold Watt, (June 27, 1948) lost his long courageous battle with Cancer but gained his Angel Wings on December 22nd 2016.

David leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years Rochelle Watt, sons Andrew (Alicia), Steven (Ashley), daughters Allison (Mike), Melissa (Kirk), as well as his 5 grandchildren Chase, Austyn, Ava, Elizabeth, Jacob, as well as his Brother Allan Watt, Nieces and Nephews Kristin (Edwardo), Justin (Allison), Josh, Derek.

David left a legacy to all of us about strength, courage, love and guidance to live life to the fullest with love in our hearts, the gift of giving to others in our hands and appreciation for all those around us upon our souls in the time to come as we grieve.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, tributes may be made in David’s memory to the Foothills Country Hospice Society, Box 274, Okotoks, Alberta T1S 1A5.

This Hospice allowed David the opportunity to enjoy what time he had left in comfort and peace. He was often found in his wheelchair in the hallways or at the reception desk greeting all those that passed through the doors. He welcomed everyone with a heartfelt smile a mile wide. He took the little time he had left to brighten anyone’s day.

To all the nurses and staff at Foothills Country Hospice, we are eternally grateful for your love and kindness. David loved you all! Especially how you always accepted his “sorry butt” humor. Also to the Doctors, nurses and Home Care providers from Vulcan Hospital that looked after David until he was ready for hospice care.

A Celebration of Life for all that would like to attend will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Vulcan Kinsmen Club Room (705 Elizabeth Street). Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home, Funeral Directors at 403-485-2633. Email condolences may be viewed at www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

Losing someone we love is nothing easy, but knowing that we have been able to be a part of the life of David, we can realize that we are blessed to have been able to share in his life. I have many fond memories and giggles forever in my heart.

    Hugs and kisses

I am sorry for your loss. David put up a tremendous battle for the love of his wife, children and grandchildren. I am sorry he finally lost it, but, will look down on everyone with his fond smile to take of you, as this was his nature.
I am sad that we were not able to see him to say our goodbyes.
