Mallory, Donald (1921-2005)
Don was born Oct 18, 1921 in the family house in Kirkcaldy to Grant and Lorena Mallory. He lived a full life in the community until his passing Jan. 6, 2005 at Vulcan Community Health Centre.
Growing up he split his time between the hamlet and the family farm near Alston. He attended school in both areas. He also went Boyne and high school in Vulcan.
Don enlisted in the Air Force and served as a WAG, wireless air gunner. He was first stationed in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and patrolled in Venturas, and Catalinas. He then went

Lawrence Donald “Bay” Frey of Vulcan, Alberta  passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
Lawrence was born November 7, 1923 at Coaldale, Alberta to Erwin and Elizabeth Frey.  He received his education at Readymade school.  In 1950 Lawrence married Betty Marie Riley.  He farmed with his father until 1958.  Lawrence and Betty then moved to a farmstead west of Carmangay.  In 1966 the family moved to Glen Greene’s farm three miles south of Vulcan.  Lawrence actively farmed until 2000.  He moved into the Long Term Care Unit at the Vulcan

Ron was born July 23, 1935 at Champion, Alberta to Fred and Helen Walker. Dougherty, Betty June, of Vulcan, Alberta passed away peacefully at her home on Friday December 17, 2004 at the age of 67 years.
Betty was born on June 17, 1937 at Dawson Creek, British Columbia to John and Agnes McGinnis. She lived in the Groundbirch area in her younger years, then moved to Victoria, B.C., where she met Wayne Dougherty and on July 8, 1960 they were married . Over the years they moved from Victoria to several places, including Winnipeg, Grande Prairie and then Ponoka. While living in Ponoka Betty was co-owner of the NAPA Store for twenty seven years.

Margaret was born December 5, 1923 at Moston, Manchester, England to Robert and Edith (Grimes) Telford. She attended school in England. In her youth Margaret played badminton. She married George Walter Saunderson on May 17, 1941. He was a paratrooper in the British Army and was from Northern Ireland.
