Beloved wife of Howard of Vulcan, loving mother of two daughters Susan (Rick) Reise, Deb (Ray) Berg both of Calgary, a son Fred (Barb) of Vulcan, three grandchildren Becky Reise, Kelly (Robin) Berg, Michael Berg, four sisters-in-law Mickey Markert of Calgary, Mabel Main of Spokane, Washington, Jane Markert of Duncan, BC, Allyene Keay of Camrose and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arvids “John” Kokaritis passed away suddenly at his home in Vulcan, Alberta March 3, 2007 at the age of 64 years.
John was born December 16, 1942 at Daugaupils, Latvia to Joseph and Janina Kokaritis. The family moved to England in 1945, to Montreal in 1957 and then to Calgary. John purchased a ranch near Strathmore that was sold at the divorce of his first wife Joy. He began working with Reynolds Company in Montreal operating a particular binding machine of which there where only three in Canada. The company was sold to Quebec Core, who John continued to work for
GALLAGHER, George 1923 – 2007
Gallagher, George passed away at Lethbridge, Alberta on February 22, 2007 at the age of 83 years.
Beloved husband of Wanda of Lethbridge and father of two sons Terry and Cam (Sheila), two grandsons Josh and Justin.
George was born October 5, 1923 at Tramping Lakes, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 at Edmonton, for a time he served in action as a member of the Special Services Force “Red Devils” brigade, as well as many other regiments. He returned home in 1946.
George married Janet Croucher in 1946 and they lived in Calgary where they raised their family. He

SPAETH, Dorothy Mae 1918 – 2007
Dorothy Mae Spaeth, beloved wife of the late Howard Leroy Spaeth, passed away February 20, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 88 years.
Mae was born September 18, 1918 at Lomond, Alberta to Althea and Milton Cotton. She attended Sunny Plains School and lived in the Armada District. Mae worked in Vulcan and met Howard Spaeth in 1938. They married on June 10, 1940 at the Spaeth family farm at Vulcan. They farmed until Howard’s death in 1965.
Mae was active in the Vulcan Church of Christ and was a member of the Candlelight Ladies. She was
KNIGHT, Alice 1917 – 2007
Alice Knight, beloved wife of the late Wes Knight, passed away on February 8, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 89 years.
Alice was born November 25. 1917 at Champion, Alberta to George and Rachel Taylor. She attended Champion and Vulcan schools. After graduating from high school Alice attended Calgary Normal School and taught in rural schools until she enlisted in the RCAFWD. She served at a Meteorological Observer and was stationed in Ottawa, Toronto and Calgary. Alice taught at Carmangay after being discharged. She met and married Wesley Knight on July 1, 1946. NICHOLLS, JOYCE MARY passed away on March 31, 2007 in Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 82 years. Joyce was born on February 4, 1925 in Shaunovan, SK.
Joyce is survived by her husband Ron, 6 children – John (Nadine) Spack, Ann (Leonard) Pullan, Dee Beaulac, Chuck Nicholls, Darlene Nicholls, Mary (Rocky) Henrickson, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Marjorie Wighi, Ann (Edward) Addison and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was predeceased by her brother John Wighi, a niece Marion and her parents.

Jean Elizabeth Scobie passed away peacefully on February 2, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
Jean was born at Mossbank, Saskatchewan on November 15,1922 to John and Agnes Clarke. She was raised as an only child after the death of her younger sister in 1928, but she grew up close to the Balfour family to whom she was considered a “sister”. Jean enjoyed skating, school activities and assisted at the local telephone office until she finished school. She worked in the local Imperial Bank of Canada in Mossbank.

Beloved husband of Annie, loving father of three daughters Annie (Ben) Walter, Katrina (Dan) Wollman, Bertha (Paul) Walter, Eight sons Andrew (Katie), Jake (Rachel), Peter (Mary), Paul (Esther) John (Clara), David, Joseph (Rebecca), Daniel, 55 Grandchildren and 66 Great Grandchildren.

R. Jack McFadden passed away January 23, 2007 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 71 years. Jack was born August 15, 1935 at Vulcan, Alberta to Bob and Ollie McFadden. He grew up in the Ensign district and attended Ensign and Brant schools. As a child Jack was active in Cubs and Scouts and later he became a member of the Calgary Highlanders.
