Burgess, Gordon Clarke, formerly of Champion, passed away May 19, 2013 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 82 years.

Johnston, Robert Nelson “Bob”, of Vulcan, passed away  May 12, 2013 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 83 years.
Bob was born July 4, 1929 at Brome, Quebec, where he attended school. He worked on the farm and had many jobs and hobbies in the off season, including building and driving stock cars and working in the bush. He worked at many garage repair shops, then worked for Bunnie Chev Olds in Quebec. Bob played the drums in a dance band, at first with his mother, sister and uncle and later with other band members. ROOT, Jerome “Jerry” passed away on May 9, 2013 in Brooks Health Centre at the age of 88 years.
Jerry Root was born on February 25, 1925 on the Lomond homestead. Except for a few winters during his youth, he lived in Lomond all his life before moving to Brooks in the fall of 2010.
Jerry started his working career as a partner in an implement agency, service station and oil agency. After that was sold 4 years later, he became the agent for the Imperial Oil bulk plant from 1951 – 1957. It was in1952 that he began farming, the profession

Bexte, Adolf Kasper, of Vulcan, formerly of Arrowwood, passed away March 16, 2013 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 79 years.
Adolf was born to Bernhard and Anna Bexte October 8, 1933 in Freischlag, Germany and was the second son of 9 children.
Adolf worked in road construction for many years. He and Dorothy enjoyed camping for many years and when he retired, enjoyed working in his shop making many beautiful wood carvings.

Rodney Donald Povey of Champion, passed away suddenly March 5, 2013 at Lethbridge, AB, at the age of 57 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Don & Lorraine Povey.
Rod is survived by his loving wife Janice, sons Tyler, Chad (Stephanie) and Coltan (Beth), grandsons Gavin and Morgan, brothers Kelly (Vicki) Lyle, Darcy and Dwight, in-laws Ed & Lois Suchow, Derinda Thatcher, Patti (Randy) Pederson and Lynn (Ed) Cole and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris Annie McLean of Vulcan passed away March 6, 2013 at the age of 96.
Doris was born on December 22, 1916 in Queenstown, Alberta to Erastus and Ruth (Macomber) Beckner. Doris attended school in Milo and later moved to Calgary where she married Ken McLean of Milo, on November 5, 1938.
