Clara was born July 5, 1912 at Queenstown, Alberta to Margaret and Aleck Johnson. Nelson, She passed away March 31, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 97 years. Clara took all her schooling at Queenstown and in 1930, married Nels Nelson, where they raised their five children. She loved to knit and crochet, many gifts her family now enjoy. Family meant the world to Clara and she really enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life time member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Milo. Mom will always be remembered for her courage and feistiness. She will be forever missed by her family.
Clara will be lovingly remembered by daughters Lorna Francis and Carol (Bill) Steiner, daughter-in-law Marilyn Nelson, sons-in-law John Campbell and Larry (Jean) Umscheid, two sisters-in-law Lilly Polo and Rosemary Johnson, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Nels, one son, two daughters, a granddaughter, a grandson, her siblings two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Milo Community Hall with Sue MacDonald DM officiating.
Casket bearers Randy Umscheid, Kevin Umscheid, Kendal Umscheid, Blair Nelson, Wade Nelson, Lane Steiner, Tim Francis, Dan Francis and Jeff Campbell.
Interment Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Milo, Alberta

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother, grandmother etc. She was a wonderful lady and I have many fond memories of how she was so good to me when I was a kid in Queenstown.
