It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Andrew Armstrong at the Palliative Care unit at St. Michael’s Care Center on January 19, 2023 at the age of 79 years.
David was born on February 23,1943, in Vulcan, AB, second child of Earl and Alberta Armstrong. He and his siblings were raised in Lomond, AB. David joined the R.C.A.F. and served for 5 years before returning to the Lomond area where he farmed for over 40 years. He retired from farming and relocated to Lethbridge in 2011.

The family of Henry Arthur (Art) Dyck are saddened to announce his passing on January 17, 2023 in Champion, Alta.
Art is survived by his four sons – Gerry (Deb), Rod (Arlis), Reg (Kim) and Calvin Dyck; two granddaughters, Carly (Josh), Ana (Will); two grandsons, Dusty, and Shawn; four great granddaughters, Alexa, Remi, Isla and Sophia; three sisters, Marilyn, Ivy, and Viola, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary Dyck and older brother John.
Art was born June 12, 1936 in Vernon B.C. and shortly after the family moved back to the Swift Current area.

Kathleen (Katy) Elizabeth Morris November 10, 1951 /December 10, 2022
Kathleen (Katy) Morris passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB on December 10, 2022 at the age of 71 years.
Katy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1951. She is predeceased by her father Ronald William Morris and her mother Violet (Crow) Morris. Katy is survived by her sisters-Val (Owen) Cullingham and Sheila (Shaun) Reddington and her nephews-Michael (Carol), Nicholas (Andrea) and Christopher (Melanie) and her great nephews and great niece. She will be mourned by her good friend, Patricia Seifert (travelling buddy, photographer and explorer of all roads less taken).

Alvin John Winch of Milo, beloved husband of Sheila, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB on December 28, 2022 at the age of 78 years.
Alvin was born July 20, 1944 in Bassano, AB to Hugh & Bernice Winch.

Sokvitne, Muriel May of Vulcan, beloved wife of the late Leonard Sokvitne, passed away at Vulcan Extendicare December 25, 2022 at the age of 97 years.
Loving mother of son Garry of Lomond, his daughter Lisa Libel and her daughters Kate and Ava Libel all of Calgary.
Muriel was born in Oregon on May 5, 1925 and traveled with her family to Alberta. She attended Green Prairie, the boarding school in Armada, Calgary and Lomond Schools. Gloria leaves behind her two daughters Desirae (Shantel) Huot of Edmonton, Danielle (Matt) Sywenky, Granddaughter Skyler Sywenky of Chestemere, two Sisters Rosella Bjornson of Sherwood Park and Grace (Arnie) Klitmoller of Champion two nieces: Valerie Pratt and Ellen McKay two nephews Ken Pratt and Eric Klitmoller.

James “Jim” Richard Minor 1946 – 2022
Minor, James “Jim” Richard of Vulcan, beloved husband of Christa for 53 years, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, AB on December 7, 2022 at the age of 76 years, after a 4-year battle with cancer.

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death, but peaceful passing, of John Gordon Gieschen, at his home in Vulcan County, on November 15, 2022, at the age of 81years.
John was born in New Westminster, British Columbia. After working at his father’s printing company in New Westminster for many years, he moved his family to Calgary in 1981 where he started Goldstar Business Forms and worked there until his retirement.
