BEAGLE, Ronald 1930 – 2014

The family of Ronald Don Beagle announce his passing on Feb 6, 2014, following a short illness at Innisfail, Alberta where he has resided since 2006. He celebrated his 84th birthday at home.

Ron was born Feb 4, 1930 to parents, Don & Gladys Beagle.   Raised on the family farm in Arrowwood, Alberta, he took his schooling there, completing Gr. 12 in Mossleigh where he met the mother of his four children, Mabel Dorean Samaroden.  They married in Sept 1950.  In his young adult years he completed an Agricultural Diploma course at Olds College.  Four children blessed their family, Ken, Doug, Lorea & Jason.  Ron was a farmer at heart but he expanded into farm machinery business, bulk fuel delivery along with Automotive and Machinery repair.  He owned and operated B & B Service in Arrowwood along his good friend, Fred Bexte.  Those were happy times for our Dad.  He loved farming his land on the home place where he grew up.  He also was a member on town council, Lions Club Member, Antique Truck Club member and was a well recognized trusty bus driver.  He was very skilled at car repair and restoration, even having his 1937 truck he lovingly restored used in a Hallmark movie.  Mabel & Ronnie had 53 wonderful years together & Mabel predeceased Ronnie in 2003.  Dad always referred to her as “his lady”.

In his lonely years following Mabel’s death he made many trips to Innisfail where his sons lived.  It was there he met and married Helen Mitchell in 2006, moving from Arrowwood to start his 2nd life chapter.  They enjoyed these past years together attending their church, visiting family here and abroad and having many great potluck dinners.   Our family is grateful for Helen’s immense love of our Dad and thank her for being there with him during these past weeks of difficulty.  His kids & Helen never left his side.

Ron is survived by his sisters, Marvina Phillips and Myrna Winch (Marvin), brother-in-law Doug Phillips, sister-in-law Fran Auvigne, four children:  Ken (Linda), Doug, Lorea (Rodger), Jason (Shannon). Also surviving Ron is his wife of 8 years, Helen Mitchell Beagle & Helen’s granddaughter, Joanna (Darryl) Mullen, Helen’s brothers Frank, Bill and Mike (Sheila) Kovacs and sister Elsie Denton.   Also surviving are many close knit Norton, Beagle and Samaroden relatives.

His legacy continues with his Grandchildren:  Michael (Karen), Graham (Joanne), Jody (Richard), Kristi (Robert), Sydney, Jocelyn, Bridget (JJ), Nicole (Peter), Charmaine, Reagan (Jason) and also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren.  Ron was predeceased by his parents, Don and Gladys Beagle, his brother Melvin and his beloved wife, Mabel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb 12, 2014 at 1 pm at The Church of the Nazarene, Innisfail, Alberta (4904 – 48 Street).  A viewing is also arranged for 11 am in the Church Sanctuary.
As Arrowwood was & always will be considered “home” to our family, we invite any friends and family to the Arrowwood Cemetery for interment on Thursday, Feb 13th, 11 am.

The family requests any donations given in Ron’s memory be made to:  Arrowwood Beautification project c/o Town of Arrowwood. Monies will be spent beautifying the park gazebo which was created in our Mom’s memory.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home.  Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

Uncle Ron Even though we only knew you for 8 years we loved you very much. I know dad( Frank Kovacs ) would have been there to see you one last time But because of his age 94 and no one local to drive him.

. We remember the last time we saw Ron. He took us for a ride in that wonderful truck of his. we will all miss his smile and a wonderful man is now seated by the side of the Lord GOOD NIGHT RON

We are so very sorry to hear about your Dad’s (Grandpa’s) passing. He was such a wonderful, warm and friendly person. I have such fond memories of spending time with him and Mabel at their house in Arrowwood in the summer.

Sending a big hug to you from across the sea.
