Doris Annie McLean of Vulcan passed away March 6, 2013 at the age of 96.
Doris was born on December 22, 1916 in Queenstown, Alberta to Erastus and Ruth (Macomber) Beckner. Doris attended school in Milo and later moved to Calgary where she married Ken McLean of Milo, on November 5, 1938.
Doris is survived by 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Dale & Mollie McLean of Magnolia, TX and his two daughters, Kari (Ron) Thiessen of Vulcan and their three children, Debbie (Bruce) Sicotte of High River and their four children; Myrna & Bob Schmidt of Red Deer and their two sons, Doug (Joan) Schmidt of Red Deer and their four children, Norm (Rinky) Schmidt of Red Deer and their two children; Lana & Gord Mallery and her two children, Lori Johnstone of Calgary and her two children, Jason (Michelle) Johnstone of Calgary and their child; Murray and Norma McLean of Vulcan and their three children, Scott (Amber) McLean of Vulcan and their three children, Marty (Jennifer) McLean of Kamloops, BC and their two children, Kelly (Dan) Hartmann of High River and their two children; Gordon & Linda McLean of Vulcan and their four children, Jordy, Devin, Lindsay and Cody.
Doris was predeceased by Ken, her husband of 66 years in 2005, and five brothers; Bud, Tooke, Bill, Tom, Ray and a sister Dorothy.
Funeral services were held March 12, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald officiating. Interment Vulcan Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Doris’ grandsons and the eulogy by her granddaughters.
