PRENTICE, Kenneth George
1963 -2009
Prentice, Kenneth George “Ken”(a.k.a. Sid) passed away suddenly August 24, 2009 at Milo at the age of 46 years.
Ken was born at Bassano, Alberta on April 9, 1963 to Jim and Brenda Prentice. He attended Milo School and County Central High School at Vulcan. Ken obtained his mechanics licence in 1985 and co-managed the Milo Garage as well as helping his dad farm. He also worked on the pipeline for many years. Ken married Ann Olsson on March 21, 1987 and they resided in Milo. In 1990, they purchased the old G. Vooys home and had it relocated to the Prentice farm.
Ken played hockey for the Queenstown Cleaners and enjoyed snow and water skiing. He was a past member of the Milo Lions Club, a member of the Milo Fire Department, a director of the Vulcan Minor Hockey Association and was on the Board of the Milo Seed Cleaning Association..
Beloved husband of Ann, loving father of three children Thomas, Sara and Adam, mother Brenda, sister Cyndi, two brothers Jim and Rick, four aunts Phyllis Hunter, Helen Thompson, Bev Armstrong and Mildred Martell-Latham and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his father Jim, all his grandparents and mother and father-in-law..
A celebration of Ken’s life was be held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Milo Community Hall.
In lieu of flowers, tributes in Ken’s memory can be made to an educational trust fund set up for his children at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Box 150, Milo, T0L 1L0.
