Martin Joseph “Marty” Brennan passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Vulcan, Alberta on May 13, 2005 at the age of 32 years.
Marty was born at Freshwater Placentia Bay, Newfoundland on July 4, 1972 to Martin and Noreen Brennan and he grew up in the Freshwater area. Marty moved to Vulcan with his family in 2003.
Marty had a great outlook on life, a smile and a story for everyone. He loved to work at any job and would always give it his very best. Marty enjoyed going to his nephews’ hockey games, playing Barbie’s with his niece and cleaning his niece’s car. He also enjoyed listening to music, playing darts, pool, VLT’S, doing scratch tickets, riding his bike, attending weddings and funerals. Marty loved watching hockey, especially his favorite team the “Toronto Maple Leafs”. He also loved the S.O.D.A Group in Vulcan and participating in the annual Readers Theater presentations. We know that Marty is in the good hands of ”nan”, for in her eyes he could do no wrong. He will forever be in our hearts. “Many people walk in and out of your life, but true friends leave footprints on your heart.”
Loving son of Martin and Noreen Brennan and loving brother of two sisters Tina (Glen) Quilty of Vulcan and Lisa (James) Jones of Brooks, uncle of Chandelle and Blayne, Mark and Haley, grandson of Madeline Kerrivan of Nova Scotia, great nephew to fourteen aunts and five uncles. Marty will be sadly missed by all his family and friends in Newfoundland and Alberta .
Marty was predeceased by his grandparents Anthony and Frances Bennett of Freshwater, Nfld. and Joseph Kerrivan of Marystown, Nfld.
The family would like to thank Dr. Len Wade for his care and compassion to Marty, the Vulcan Rescue Unit and Vulcan Ambulance for their quick response to our call for help.
Funeral Mass at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Vulcan Thursday May 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Phillip Van Tinh Le celebrant.
Casket Bearers Mark Walsh, Glen Quilty, Jimmy Jones, Tim Quilty, Cory Quilty and Blayne Quilty.
Cremation to follow and inurnment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers tributes in Marty’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta 1825 Park Rd. S.E. Calgary T2G 3Y6.
