WILLIAMS, Melvin Earl   1945 – 1991

MELVIN EARL WILLIAMS WAS CALLED HOME TO HIS LORD AUGUST 3O, 1991 AT VULCAN GENERAL HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF 46 YEARS.

MELVIN WAS BORN IN CALGARY, ALBERTA JUNE 28, 1945. HE WORKED IN THE COAL MINES IN GRAND CACHE AREA AND ACHIEVED HIS BLACK TAG WHICH ALLOWED HIM MORE CHALLENGING WORK IN MINING. HE ALSO WORKED AS A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR DOING STRIP MINING. MOST RECENTLY HE WORKED FOR WORLD DIESEL TRUCKING BETWEEN CALGARY AND HIGH LEVEL, SASKATCHEWAN OIL FIELD SUPPLIES.

IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR, MELVIN WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CEREBRAL CANCER AND MOVED TO CARMANGAY. MELVIN ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND THE WIND AT HIS BACK. HE ENJOYED LIFE. HE NEVER HAD A JOB OR WORK – HE LOOKED AT THEM AS FUN TIMES AND ALWAYS CALLED ANYTIME HE WENT AWAY – “GONE FISHING”. HE ENJOYED GARDENING, FLOWERS, THE WIND, FISHING AND HE LOVED LIFE, FOR THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVED WITHIN HIM.

BELOVED HUSBAND OF MRS. LORIE WILLIAMS OF CARMANGAY, FATHER OF A DAUGHTER HEATHER, TWO SONS TIM AND TONY ALL OF SPRUCE GROVE, HIS PARENTS DAYTON AND DARLEEN WILLIAMS OF VULCAN, THREE BROTHERS DARRELL AND BARB OF LADYSMITH, BC,, BOB AND SHYRL OF BLOOMFIELD,ONT., AND RICK AND KAREN OF PARKVILLE, B.C., TWO SISTERS MARJORIE (PAUL) LEIS OF CALGARY AND CINDY OF VULCAN.

HE WAS PREDECEASED BY A SISTER LINDA LOU IN 1952.

FUNERAL SERVICE WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7 AT 2:00 P.M., AT ARROWWOOD COMMUNITY HALL WITH REV. DOUG BARRIE OFFICIATING. INTERMENT ARROWWOOD CEMETERY.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE JOAN AND JOHN BROOKS, MARILYN AND WAYNE
MITCHELL AND JIM DIACHUCK.

ACTIVE PALLBEARERS WERE RON LEIS, DENNIS LEIS, GERALD LEIS, JEFF SUTHERLAND, REG PAKOSZ AND NICK LANIGAN.
