Williams, Gordon A. passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on December 15, 2007at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 79 years.
Beloved husband of Phylis (Hewens) Williams, he will be loving remembered by his children Linda (Ned) Studer, Heather (Allan) Davies, Ronald (Crystal) Williams, Leigh (Leslie) Fex, Wendy (Barry) Dickinson, Dwayne (Annette) Fex, Donald Williams, Kevin (Janet) Fex, fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents, a grandson, a brother and a sister-in-law.
Gordon resided in Red Deer and was employed by CPRail for eleven years first as a fireman and later as an engineer. He moved to Calgary and continued working for CPRail until he was laid off in 1958. In January 1959 he began working for the Solicitor General Department until retiring in 1983. Gordon worked for the Calgary School Board in the summers until moving to Vulcan 1987 where he spent his summers working for the Town. Gordon and Phylis wintered at Val Vista Village at Mesa, AZ for 24 years. In 2003 they sold their place at Arizona when Gordon’s health began to fail.
A celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held Thursday December 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vulcan Legion Hall, 240 Sinclair Road, with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.
