Alene “Yvonne” West of Vulcan, formerly of Lomond, passed away May 23, 2013 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 88 years.
Loving mother of a daughter Bev (Doug) Lee of Brooks, three sons Bruce (Patricia) of Olds, Doug of Lomond, Bob (Carol Robertson) of Vulcan, six grandchildren Lori and Rick Lee, Evan and Casey West, Elyse (Derek) Belanger and Brett Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Herb, in May of 2000. Yvonne lived at the Peter Dawson Lodge in Vulcan for 13 years, from 2000 to the time of her passing. She loved her family and spending time with friends. Yvonne enjoyed gardening, woodworking, making clocks out of tree burls, re-upholstering furniture,, painting rocks and other crafts.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013, first with a Graveside Service at the Lomond Cemetery at 11 am, then Celebration of Life at the Peter Dawson Lodge Atrium at 2:30 pm, with Pastor David Sarsons officiating.

So sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. I remember her with my growing up years in Lomond . Since then I have come to know her better with the visits to my Mom at the Peter Dawson Lodge and enjoyed the times and talks around the Atrium coffee /activities.
Such a nice lady and realize we don’t appreciate these people in our lives till we are adults ourselves.
I’m very fortunate to have gotten to know your Mom and her quick wit and kind , friendly personality .
She was loved at the Lodge and appreciated for who she was.
You are all blessed to have enjoyed these many years with her .
