A LONGTIME RESIDENT OF THE. VULCAN AREA, CLIFFORD HAROLD WEBBER WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD ON MAY 20, 1995 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA.
CLIFFORD WAS BORN AT GRASSY LAKE, ALBERTA, APRIL 27, 1920 AND MOVED WITH HIS PARENTS TO THE VULCAN AREA AT THE AGE OF FIVE.
HE ATTENDED ANTRIM SCHOOL IN THE MOSSLEIGH AREA AND CONTINUED HIS EDUCATION AT THE EASTWAY SCHOOL. HE FARMED MOST OF HIS LIFE IN THE BERRYWATER DISTRICT, SPENDING A FEW WINTERS DRIVING SCHOOL BUS AND WORKING AS A MECHANIC FOR JIM SHORTT IN VULCAN.
HE MARRIED BERTHA MCINTYRE OF THE REID HILL DISTRICT IN SEPTEMBER OF 1944. THEY SETTLED IN THE BERRYWATER COMMUNITY WHERE THEY RAISED THEIR FIVE CHILDREN.
CLIFFORD WAS INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY OVER THE YEARS, INCLUDING POSITIONS WITH THE BUFFALO HILLS MUTUAL TELEPHONE COMPANY, BERRYWATER UNIFARM AND WAS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE MACLEOD SAVINGS AND CREDIT UNION, THE VULCAN SEED CLEANING ASSOCIATION AND A MEMBER OF THE CENTRAL CHURCH OF CHRIST IN VULCAN SINCE 1948.
IN JUNE OF 1978, HIS WIFE BERTHA PASSED AWAY AND IN APRIL OF 1981 HE MARRIED EDNA TUTTLE OF LETHBRIDGE.
CLIFFORD WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HIS DEVOTION TO HIS FAMILY, FOR HIS GODLY WISDOM, HIS WILLINGNESS TO OFFER A LISTENING EAR AND HIS KEEN SENSE OF HUMOUR. HE WAS GIFTED WITH MECHANICAL AND BLACKSMITHING ABILITIES WHICH ENABLED HIM TO REPAIR AND REDESIGN MACHINERY TO SUIT HIS NEEDS. CLIFFORD WAS INTERESTED IN METAL MACHINING AND WOODWORKING AND HE LOVED A VARIETY OF MUSIC AND SINGING. HE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE MANY FAMILY GATHERINGS WITH IMMEDIATE AND EXTENDED FAMILIES. HE MADE NUMEROUS FRIENDS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY, CHURCH AND DANCE CLUBS.
HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY HIS LOVING WIFE EDNA OF VULCAN, THREE DAUGHTERS CAROLYN (KEITH) KIRKNESS AND MARILYN (DREW) PRICE ALL OF CALGARY AND MAUREEN (ROD) WILLIAMSON OF GOLDEN, TWO SONS WARREN (MAVIS) WEBBER OF OKOTOKS AND ALLEN (PATRICIA) WEBBER OF VULCAN, FIVE STEP-SONS NESTOR, WESLEY, OF LETHBRIDGE, OTIS (LISA), KEITH (TERESA) OF EDMONTON AND KELLY(KELLI) TUTTLE OF COALDALE, FOURTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, ELEVEN STEP GRANDCHILDREN, A BROTHER JOHN WEBBER OF CALGARY, A SISTER MARGARET McINTY RE OF AIRDRIE, AN UNCLE PAT LAUGHLIN OF LANGDON AND NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
CLIFFORD WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS FIRST WIFE BERTHA, A BROTHER TOM AND HIS PARENTS THOMAS AND CECILIA.
FUNERAL SERVICE THURSDAY MAY 25, 1995 AT 1:30 PM AT THE VULCAN CULTURAL AND RECREATION CENTRE, WITH REV. DOUG BARRIE AND REV. JIM CHAPMAN OFFICIATING. INTERMENT VULCAN CEMETERY.
