VOOYS, ELSIE ALBERTINA OF MILO, ALBERTA PASSED AWAY JULY 13, 1991 AT THE AGE OF 71 YEARS.

ELSIE WAS BORN AT LOMOND, ALBERTA ON JUNE 1, 1920. SHE PLAYED PIANO FOR CHURCH SERVICES AT PROSPECT SLOPE HALL AND ALSO IN THE HENRY HUFF ORCHESTRA FOR DANCES ALL AROUND THE LOMOND AND MILO AREA. ELSIE MARRIED GILBERT VOOYS NOVEMBER 7, 1947 AND THEY FARMED AND RAISED A FAMILY IN THE MILO AREA. SHE WAS ALWAYS INVOLVED WITH HER CHURCH AND ALL THE ACTIVITIES. THE CHURCH AND THE LORD WERE HER FOUNDATION AND HARD WORK.

SHE LOVED HER FAMILY, HER ROSE GARDEN AND GARDENING. ELSIE ENJOYED NEEDLEWORK OF WHICH SHE WON MANY RIBONS AND TROPHIES FOR, AT FALL FAIRS AND CARD PARTIES.

SHE WAS CHAIRWOMEN OF THE MILO DROP-IN CENTRE FOR MAY YEARS, A MEMBER OF UNITED FARM WOMEN OF ALBERTA AND THE HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH LADIES AID. SHE HAD INTEREST IN PEOPLE AND THEIR HISTORIES AND DEVOTED A GREAT DEAL OF TIME TOWARD THE SNAKE VALLEY HISTORY BOOK AND ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT WORKING WITH IT.

BELOVED WIFE OF MR. GILBERT VOOYS AND LOVING MOTHER OF TWO DAUGHTERS KAREN (EUGENE) URCHYSHYN OF DRAYTON VALLEY AND VIRGIE MCINTYRE OF CALGARY, A SON GORDON AND HIS WIFE KATHY OF MILO, EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, FOUR BROTHERS CARL OST OF BROOKS, PAUL AND MARGARET OST AND TIM AND LEONA OST ALL OF LOMOND AND TINY OST OF VULCAN.

SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER PARENTS PAUL AND MARGARETA OST, A BROTHER ALBERT AND A SISTER GERTRUDE.

FUNERAL SERVICES WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, 1991 AT 1:30 P.M. AT HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, MILO WITH PASTOR LEWIS BOOTH OFFICIATING. INTERMENT MILO HOPE LUTHERAN CEMETERY.
