Peggy spent her childhood in Edmonton and later attended the University of Alberta where she completed her Education certificate with a major in Home Economics. She came to Vulcan in 1957 and taught as a circuit teacher throughout the County.
While she was living in Vulcan, she met Donald Versluys and they married on July 16th, 1960. They had four beautiful daughters; Karen, Colleen, Gail and Debbie. As the girls grew up she kept busy with their many activities including Girl Guides and the 4-H Horse Club.

Peggy was an avid curler and spent many hours at the Champion and Vulcan curling rinks. She especially enjoyed attending bonspiels throughout the County and in 2005 participated in the Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games.
Hobbies played an important part in Peggy’s life. She spent a lot of time sewing for her children, doing petit point and tending the garden. Most recently she liked the challenge of completing puzzles.
