JOSEPH FRANKLIN “FRANK” TESKEY OF CARMANGAY PASSED AWAY AT VULCAN, ALBERTA SEPTEMBER 18, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 78 YEARS.

FRANK WAS BORN JULY 29, 1919 ON THE FAMILY FARM NEAR CARMANGAY. HE ATTENDED RIDGEWAY COUNTRY SCHOOL. HE BEGAN WORKING FOR FARMERS IN THE AREA, THEN WORKED AT FRASER’S COAL MINE. HE JOINED THE ROYAL CANADIAN ARMY IN 1942 AND SERVED IN THE COAL MINES IN THE CROWSNEST PASS TO SUPPLY THE WAR EFFORT UNTIL I945. FRANK CONTINUED MINING UNTIL HE RETURNED HOME IN 1947. HE PURCHASED A TRUCK AND HAULED GRAIN FOR LOCAL FARMERS. FRANK MARRIED LORRAINE NUGENT IN 1948 AND TOGETHER THEY FARMED, FIRST WITH HIS FATHER AND FOLLOWING HIS FATHER’S PASSING IN 1952, ON HIS OWN. FOLLOWING MANY YEARS OF CROP FAILURES, IN I968 FRANK RENTED OUT THE LAND AND STARTED WORKING AT THE KLASSEN MOBILE HOME PLANT AT THE OLD VULCAN AIRPORT AS A CARPENTER. HE LATER WORKED FOR ALBERTA WHEAT POOL AS A MAINTENANCE PERSON. IN 1970 FRANK STARTED WORKING FOR THE COUNTY OF VULCAN IN THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT UNTIL HIS HEALTH PREVENTED HIM FROM CONTINUING IN 1978. WHILE AT HOME IN CARMANGAY FRANK CONTINUED WORKING AT HIS OWN PACE DOING JOBS UNTIL HE RETIRED.

FRANK LOVED HIS FAMILY, TAKING THEM CAMPING ESPECIALLY TO THE GAP AND CASTLE RIVER CAMPING AREA’S. HE ENJOYED FISHING AND HUNTING, BOTH BIG GAME AND BIRDS. HE REALLY ENJOYED THE OUTDOORS AND SPORTS, ESPECIALLY BASEBALL. FRANK WAS A PERFECTIONIST, ALL THAT HE DID EVEN WHEN IT CAME TO PLANTING THE GARDEN. HE WOULD MAKE THE ROWS AND LORRAINE WOULD PLANT AND WATER THE SEEDS. HE ALSO A VERY GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR AND WOULD ALWAYS PLAY TRICKS WITH HIS FRIENDS. HE ENJOYED RODEO, VISITING
WITH PEOPLE AND PLAYING POOL .

FRANK WAS A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE CARMANGAY LIONS CLUB, HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE CARMANGAY FISH AND GAME WHERE HE SERVED AS SECRETARY AND TREASURER.

BELOVED HUSBAND OF MRS. LORRAINE TESKEY OF CARMANGAY, FATHER OF A DAUGHTER CONNIE VOGLER OF EDMONTON , TWO SONS CALVIN (PEGGY) OF ST. ALBERT AND CARSON OF CALGARY, THREE GRANDCHILDREN KEVAN VOGLER OF EDMONTON, JASON TESKEY AND JAYLENE TESKEY BOTH OF ST. ALBERT, A BROTHER BILL OF CALGARY, A SISTER-IN-LAW CATHY TESKEY OF SURREY, B.C., NUMEROUS NIECES, NEPHEWS AND COUSINS.

HE WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS PARENTS FLOYD AND LOLA, A BROTHER ALBERT, HIS UNCLES AND THREE COUSINS.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE WAS HELD SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 1997 AT 2:30 P.M. AT CARMANGAY SENIORS CITIZEN‘S CENTRE WITH REV. DON WATT OFFICIATING.
