JIM WAS BORN ON JULY 8, 1928 AT KAPUSKAING, ONTARIO. HE WORKED IN CALGARY AS A COMMISSIONAIRE AT THE BAKER CENTRE GROUP HOME IN FOR SEVERAL YEARS. IN 1986 WHILE WORKING AS A CARETAKER AT A CALGARY LEGION, HE MET MARGARET BENNETT AND IN JULY OF 1987 THEY WERE MARRIED. IN I990 THEY MOVED TO VULCAN WHERE THEY HAVE RESIDED SINCE.

JAMES HARVEY “JIM McNIVEN, FORMERLY OF VULCAN PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT THE LITTLE BOW AUXILIARY HOSPITAL, CARMANGAY, ALBERTA NOVEMBER 16, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 76 YEARS.

LOOSE, AGNES ELIZABETH PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT VULCAN EXTENDICARE VULCAN, ALBERTA NOVEMBER 7, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 87 YEARS.
AGNES WAS BORN MAY 10, 1910 AT DUNGANNON, IRELAND TO WILLIAM AND MARGARET WIER. SHE MARRIED OTTO LOOSE IN MAGRATH, ALBERTA. IN 1938 THEY MOVED TO VULCAN WITH THEIR THREE CHILDREN, MARY LOU, OTTO “BUNTY” AND SHIRLEY MAE. THEY SETTLED ON A SECTION OF LAND EAST OF VULCAN (THE ROGER HUBBARD PLACE) AND TOGETHER THEY WORKED THE LAND.
IN 1945 THEY PURCHASED A SECTION OF LAND WEST OF VULCAN, AND IN THE FALL OF THAT YEAR THEY MOVED THERE, THEY FARMED BOTH

AMY BERNICE STOKES, BELOVED WIFE OF THE LATE GEORGE STOKES PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT VULCAN EXTENDICARE ON NOVEMBER 6, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 80 YEARS.
AMY WAS BORN MARCH 24, I917 AT ARMADA, ALBERTA TO GEORGE AND SARA CRAINE. SHE RECEIVED ALL HER EDUCATION AT THE SUNNY PLAINS SCHOOL IN ARMADA. IN 1937 SHE MOVED WITH HER PARENTS TO SPRINGBANK WHERE SHE HELPED THEM ON THE DAIRY FARM. SHE MARRIED GEORGE “JIM” STOKES ON NOVEMBER 29, 1939. AMY AND JIM MOVED TO THE FARM IN ARMADA AND RAISED THEIR FAMILY. THEY FARMED UNTIL GEORGE’S PASSING ON 1967. A FEW YEARS

GARY JAMES “NICK” GIBBS, PASSED AWAY OCTOBER 8, 1997 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA AT THE AGE OF 61 YEARS.
NICK WAS BORN APRIL 22, 1936 AT SARNIA, ONTARIO, THE YOUNGEST OF NINE CHILDREN TO JOSEPH AND FRANCES GIBBS (nee:SPENCER). HE RECEIVED HIS EARLY EDUCATION AT MEADOWLEA PUBLIC SCHOOL IN SARNIA. LATER HE ATTENDED A TRADE SCHOOL WHERE HE BEGAN TRAINING FOR HIS CAREER AS A MOTOR MECHANIC. HE WORKED IN THE BEAUFORT SEA AS CHIEF MECHANIC ON THE DRILL SHIP EXPLORER II FOR DOME PETROLEUM FOR FIFTEEN YEARS. HE MOVED TO CALGARY AND NICK WORKED AT BERNIE SCOFIELD’S PETRO CANADA FOR A

JOHN DOUGLAS “JACK” McLEAN, OF CHAMPION, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT VULCAN, ALBERTA OCTOBER 4, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 69 YEARS.
JACK WAS BORN APRIL 3, 1928 AT BETHUNE, SASKATCHEWAN WHERE HE RECEIVED HIS EARLY EDUCATION. IN JANUARY OF I946 AT THE AGE OF SIXTEEN YEARS, HE ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY, STATIONED AT ESQUIMALT, B.C. AND SERVED ON THE SHIP ” NADEN” UNTIL I947. JACK WORKED IN A DAIRY MAKING ICE CREAM, THEN ON A ROAD CONSTRUCTION CREW WITH RAMSEY AND BIRD CONSTRUCTION. HE BEGAN WORKING AT REGINA UNIVERSITY IN THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT AS A STEAM ENGINEER IN I973

AUDREY FAY GARYK, PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY AT VULCAN, ALBERTA OCTOBER 2, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 60 YEARS.
AUDREY WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 14, 1937 AT SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN. SHE RECEIVED ALL OF HER SCHOOLING IN SASKATOON. FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF GRADE TWELVE, AUDREY WENT TO WORK FOR HOUSEHOLD FINANCE FOR TWO YEARS. SHE THEN BEGAN WORKING FOR REVENUE CANADA INCOME TAX FOR TWO YEARS UNTIL MARRYING GENE GARYK IN NOVEMBER OF 1960. THEY MOVED TO WINNIPEG AND RAN A SUCCESSFUL PAINT AND DECORATING BUSINESS. IN 1972 THEY MOVED TO VULCAN WHERE THEY OWNED AND OPERATED THE MCLEODS STORE FOR TWELVE YEARS UNTIL

DENNIS GENE CONNOLLY PASSED AWAY AT THE RED DEER HOSPITAL, RED DEER, ALBERTA OCTOBER 2, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 45 YEARS.
DENNIS WAS BORN SEPTEMBER R 13, 1952 IN TABER, ALBERTA, THE FOURTH SON OF ALFRED AND JEAN CONNOLLY. DENNIS RECEIVED ALL OF HIS SCHOOLING IN VULCAN, AND STARTED HIS GROCERY CAREER AT THE LOCAL IGA STORE UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF CHARLIE BOUTLAND. HE LATER MOVED TO CALGARY TO WORK FOR LOBLAWS GROCERY. IN 1980 HE MOVED TO RED DEER AND WAS THE MANAGER OF THE SUPER SAM STORE THERE FOR NUMEROUS YEARS BEFORE ACQUIRING AND OPERATING RACEY COURIER.

WALTER CARL MIX BELOVED HUSBAND OF JEAN, WAS CALLED HOME TO HIS LORD AND SAVIOUR OCTOBER 1, 1997 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA AT THE AGE OF 75 YEARS.
WALTER WAS BORN ON A FARM NEAR LOMOND, ALBERTA ON FEBRUARY 6, 1922. HE MOVED WITH HIS PARENTS TO THE REID HILL DISTRICT IN 1924. HE TOOK ALL HIS SCHOOLING AT THE MARSHALL SCHOOL, WHICH WAS A MILE SOUTH WEST OF THE MIX FARM. WALTER WORKED AS A FARM HAND ON NUMEROUS FARMS IN THE VULCAN DISTRICT. EVALENA MARIE LOVE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT VULCAN, ALBERTA SEPTEMBER 21, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 94 YEARS.
MARIE WAS BORN FEBRUARY 3, 1903 IN KOOSKLA, IDAHO THE OLDEST DAUGHTER OF THREE, TO FRANK AND MARY RUARK. MARIE ATTENDED SCHOOL IN IDAHO WHERE SHE FINISHED GRADE TEN. SHE CAME TO THE BRANT – ENSIGN DISTRICT IN 1918 WITH HER FAMILY WHERE THEY FARMED ON RENTED LAND. MARIE HELPED HER PARENTS ON THE FARM UNTIL HER MARRIAGE TO CLIFFORD LOVE ON MARCH 25, 1925. MARIE AND HER HUSBAND MOVED TO THE BERRYWATER DISTRICT WHERE THEY FARMED AND RAISED THEIR TWO CHILDREN. TOGETHER
