Witting, Anna of Vulcan, Alberta passed away Friday, November 28, 2003 at the Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 88 years.
Anna was born September 27, 1915 to Julius and Linda Matschke on a farm near Radison, Saskatchewan. She was in the middle of five brothers and seven sisters. When Anna was young, farm life was hard work mixed with music lessons for her brothers and sisters and sports, she played ball which was one of the best things that she could have done.

Margaret Elmhurst House, formerly of Arrowwood, Alberta, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 93 years.
Margaret was born on April 9, 1910 in High River to Elizabeth and Joseph Henry Connell. Margaret came to the Milt Ward home in November of 1930 and was there when their son, Jack, was born. She worked in the cook car for Mr. Ward and Mr. Hanson when they built the highway between Mossleigh and Carseland and earned 50 cents per day. Pat Bonazew, age 49, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta on November 16, 2003 after a spirited battle with cancer.
Pat was born at the Roblin General Hospital in Roblin, MB on January 28, 1954, the youngest child of Alexander and Anne (Labuke) Bonazew. She was raised and received her education in Roblin, with the exception of one year where she resided in Toronto, ON. She received her practical nursing degree from Red River College in Winnipeg and did her practicum in 1972 at Swan Valley

John Harry “Jack” West, formerly of Lomond, passed away peacefully November 9, 2003 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 90 years.
Jack was born on November 25, 1912 near Vulcan, Alberta to Herbert and Edith West. He received his education at Brunetta and Lomond schools. While growing up Jack assisted with the family farm, eventually owning his own farm. On June 24, 1944 he married Charlotte Clark in a small ceremony at her family home in Winnipeg. Capton, Nina (nee: Fritzler) Deal passed away peacefully Friday November 7, 2003 in her home at Diamond Jubilee Manor in Airdrie at the age of 89 years.
Nina was born May 18, 1914 at Champion. She was raised on a farm near Champion and attended Marshall School. Nina married George Deal on April 20, 1934. F. Reta (Thomas) Mensinger passed away peacefully on October 21, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 87 years.
Reta was born November 30, 1915 on the family farm in the Reid Hill district east of Vulcan to Peter and May McIntyre. She was the youngest of three children born to them.
Reta finished grade nine at Prospect Slope school then boarded with friends in Calgary where she attended Crescent Heights School and Mount Royal College where she took business administration courses.

Surrounded by his loving family, Gordon Thomas Lucas passed away on October 4th, 2003 at the Vulcan Health Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 29th, 1917 on the Lucas Homestead at Armada. Gordon was raised on the family homestead at Armada by his parents Thomas and Mary, and with his brothers Bill & John and sisters Mary & Cathrine. Mathilde “Tillie” Hoszouski of Vulcan, Alberta passed away Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 87 years.
Tillie was born December 2, 1915 at Regina Saskatchewan to Fergenan and Mary Bromberger. She grew up in Bateman, Saskatchewan and attended a country school. She moved to many places in Southern Saskatchewan and Winnipeg where she worked as a housekeeper. Tillie returned home near Regina to help with thrashing. Kate “Kay”Howell, formerly of Milo, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the High River Hospital at the age of 87 years.
Kay was born August 27, 1916 at Lomond, Alberta to William and Rosetta Brotherwood. Kay attended Brunetta School. She babysat and did housework for Iona Vooys, Gladys Beagle and the MacKay families.
