Robert Henry “Bob” Jones of Champion passed away suddenly at home on Friday May 7, 2004 at the age of 73 years.
Bob was born May 3, 1931 at Turtleford, Saskatchewan to Richard and Ethel Jones.
In 1948 he joined the Royal Canadian Army and began serving his country. In 1950 while traveling through Vancouver on his way to Korea, he met Eileen Elder. He joined the RCAF in late 1951 and in November of 1952 Bob and Eileen were married in Vancouver. Together they traveled around to numerous locations, serving and seeing Canada. Grete Marie Christiansen of Champion passed away suddenly at home on Friday May 7, 2004 at the age of 72 years.
Grete was born September 20, 1931 in Banff, Alberta to Theodore and Emma Kobsted. She received all her schooling in Calgary.
Grete met Svend at the Danish Canadian Club in Calgary and they were married on September 20, 1954. Grete worked in a large department store in Calgary. In 1982 Grete and Svend moved to Champion where they owned and operated the Champion General Store until it closed in 1986. Grete then became librarian
TRIBBLE, Eric Noel 1922 – 2004
Tribble, Eric Noel passed away peacefully at home in Calgary May 4, 2004 at the age of 81 years.
Eric was employed by the C.P.R for over thirty-five years working in both Quebec and Alberta. While in Alberta he was associated with the livestock industry, working as General Manager and later as Vice-President of operations of the Calgary Public Livestock Market in Calgary until retiring in 1983.

Ivy Goldthorpe, formerly of Lomond, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2004 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 86 years.
Ivy was born on May 17, 1917 at Lomond, Alberta to Herbert and Edith West. Ivy’s mother died when she was four so Ivy became a care giver at a very early age, helping her dad look after her brothers. Opal Louise Ensign, formerly of Carmangay, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004 in Calgary at the age of 78 years.
Opal was born on January 18, 1926 at Barons, Alberta to Frank and Eva Cutforth She was raised on the family farm with three sisters and six brothers. Opal received her education at Barons and Victoria, B.C. where the family spent the winter months. After high school, Opal went to Normal School in Edmonton where she received a teaching certificate. She taught school at Barhill and Barons.
Opal married Ralph Ensign on October 8, 1949.

Victor Henry “Vic” Lebsack, of Champion, Alberta, beloved husband of Esther, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at the age of 81 years.
Vic was born March 13, 1923 on a farm east of Champion, the eldest of six children, to Conrad and Katherine Lebsack. He attended Harmony School and Champion School for grades eleven and twelve. Agnes Lenz of Coaldale passed away suddenly in her home on Sunday March 28th at the age of 77 years.
Agnes was born May 10th, 1926 in Neuendorf, Ukraine to Jacob and Anna Siemens. In 1930 her father, a preacher was arrested and taken away from the family. At the age of four along with her mother and siblings were exiled to the small town of Blumengart. After her first seven years of schooling, Agnes enrolled in the Schőnwieser High School. Marion Melissa Deborah Henry of Bassano, Alberta passed away March 25, 2004 at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 92 years.
Marion was born February 1, 1912 at Majorville, Alberta, second child of George and Anna Greaves. She attended Fawn Hill and Bassano Schools.
