Walter James Dann of Vulcan passed away on January 1, 2006 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
Walter was born December 11, 1924 at Reid Hill, Alberta to Ben and Marie Dann. He attended Sonny Lake school until 1941 then began working first for Carson McKay and then other farmers in the Vulcan area. Walter married Bonny Berg on March 29, 1944. In 1946 they moved home to the family farm in the Reid Hill district to help his dad farm. One of his life long highlights was when he received his

Jacob was born at the Old Elm Colony, Magrath, Alberta on February 29, 1920. He moved from the Old Elm Colony Magrath to the Wild Rose Colony Vulcan in June 1990.

DANIELLS, Albert John “Bert” 1921 – 2005
Albert John “Bert” Daniels passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on December 15, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Bert was born July 17, 1921 near Ceylon, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Annie Daniels. He attended school in the farming community and moved to Calgary, Alberta where he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in May 1939. After completing boot camp Bert was sent to Europe and served in Italy and England until returning to Calgary in 1945. Later the same year he married Alice May Thompson and Bert began his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker.

Margaret Dow formerly of Champion, Alberta passed away peacefully at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 86 years.
Margaret was born on November 22, 1919 at Medicine Hat, Alberta to Percy and Cecile Gatenby. She attended school in Medicine Hat and Winnifred, Alberta. The family moved to Champion in 1931 and Margaret continued her schooling at Champion. Margaret married Douglas Dow in 1942. She loved being a farmer’s wife. Margaret loved the quiet life on the farm, working in her vegetable garden and raising chickens and turkeys.
Margaret loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member

Alberta May Booth passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2005 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 94 years.
Alberta was born July 7, 1911 at Claresholm, Alberta to Andrew and Martha Hartwick. She attended Lomond School and after graduation attended Normal School in Calgary. Alberta taught school for one year (1930-31) at Prairie Queen then the school closed due to small enrollment. In October, 1934 she married Earl Armstrong and had three children. Ida May Burnett passed away peacefully at the Peter Dawson Lodge November 6, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Ida May was born July 23, 1921 at Cove, Oregon the oldest daughter of George and Eva Williams. They arrived in Arrowwood in 1927. Ida May attended Shouldice, Arrowwood and Calgary Normal Schools graduating in 1941. She began teaching in Greenacres near Carstairs where she boarded with Percy and Grace Stull. The following year Ida May taught at Lathom near Bassano and joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in February 1943. She took rheumatic fever and was discharged in August on

Mervin Liebreich of Lomond, Alberta passed away on October 31, 2005, Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
Mervin was born at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, on April 7, 1921, the fifth child of Adolf and Olga Liebreich. He spent most of his childhood growing up with his seven brothers and sisters on the family farm. At an early age Merv migrated from the farm to explore the many opportunities which would serve to form the legacy he leaves behind for his children.

Alvin George “Hap” Heather, beloved husband of Ethel of Milo, Alberta passed away October 24, 2005 at Strathmore Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Hap was born December 4, 1924 at Bassano, Alberta to George and Tillie Heather and was brought home in a sleigh across the Bow River at Bassano. He attended Rocky Butte School for Grades 1-9. Hap then went to live in Milo to attend Milo High School. He finished high school in Cluny, graduating in 1942. In the spring of 1943 Hap enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy.
