Jean Lucille Mix, beloved wife of the late Walter Mix, passed away on September 10, 2007 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 79 years.
Jean was born on August 24, 1928 at Bassano, Alberta to Clarence “Happy” and Velma Booth.   Jean grew up in Lomond, residing at the family farm east of Lomond with her parents and younger sister Arlene.  On January 25, 1946 she married Walter Mix and moved to the Reid Hill district at Vulcan where she and Walter farmed.

Robert James “Bob” Stokes passed away suddenly on August 29, 2007 at his home in Lomond at the age of 91 years.
Bob was born May 21, 1916 at Armada, Alberta to Charles and Virtue Stokes.  He attended Brunetta School and helped his father farm.  Bob married Betty Vanatta on December 31, 1954 at Calgary.  They spent the next thirty years raising their family and making the original homestead farm a great success.  They moved to the Village of Lomond in 1976 and Bob worked for Lays Farm Supply and continued to farm.  Bob and Betty enjoyed an active interest in

Adriaan “Andy” Broere passed away peacefully on July 31, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
Andy was born July 10, 1923 at Capelle a/d Ijssel, Holland to Huibert and Klaasje Broere.  He received all his education in Holland and became a pressure welder.  Andy worked at the ship yards in Holland and when Holland was occupied by the Nazis during WWII, he was forced to live and work in one of their work camps until he escaped in 1945.  Andy  returned to Holland and married Neeltje Verkiak on June 6, 1946.  Their three oldest

John Milton Wilson, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Wilson, passed away   peacefully on July 12, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 91 years.
John was born April 13, 1916 at Crealman, Saskatchewan to Milton and Eva Wilson.  He moved with his family to Invermay, east of Saskatoon, then to Okla, Saskatchewan in 1919 where he received his education.  John moved to Wadena in 1939 and farmed for twenty years, then began working in Winnipeg where he earned his mechanics license.  John worked at Broadview as a mechanic until moving to Champion in 1947.  While in

Karen died peacefully July 7, 2007 with her beloved husband Paul by her side at the Vulcan Community Health Centre. Monna Harriet Hornberger passed away peacefully June 24, 2007 surrounded by her loved ones.
Monna was born May 14, 1934 to Robert and Irma Middleton in Vulcan, Alberta. She was raised on the family farm south of Vulcan with her three brothers Jack, Barry and Blaine. She attended school in the Vulcan area.

Clarence Herbert Rhodes, life long resident of Champion, passed away June 22, 2007 at Vulcan Community Health Care Centre at the age of 91 years.
