Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ron Nicholls, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Vulcan Community Health Center on August 12, 2008 at the age of 85 years.
Ron was born November 16, 1922 in Thunder Bay, Ont. to John “Jack” and Margaret Nicholls. Ron was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Joyce, his brother William, sister Margaret and sister-in-law Marjorie Wighi.
Ron is survived by his four children, Dee Beaulac of Calgary, Chuck Nicholls of Vulcan, Darlene Nicholls of Simcoe, Ontario and Mary (Rocky) Hendrickson of Arrowwood. He also leaves his grandchildren, Stephanie Hancock of Vulcan, Sean Beaulac

Barry Delmar Hegland passed away suddenly on July 11, 2008 at Lomond, Alberta the age of 53 years.
Barry is survived by his beloved partner and best friend of eighteen years Linda, their four children Jo-Ann of Kelowna, Lisa of Lethbridge, Danyel and Shaun both of Vulcan, brother Butch (Sharon) of Champion and their family, a sister Diane (Lorne) Ecklund of Stettler and their family, Aunt Agnes Hegland, cousin Richard Hegland  and best friend Ron (Laurie) Hughes all of Vulcan.
Barry was predeceased by his parents and grandparents.

Perwiznuik, Mary Catherine passed away June 19, 2008 at Little Bow Continuing Care Centre at Carmangay at the age of 86 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2001.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her son Keith (Louise), granddaughters Melanie (Scott), Debbie (Sheridan), Tammy, Kathy (Tyler), her special boys great grandsons Lane and Devyn and step great children Scottie and Cassie.
At Mary’s request, a family service will be at a later date.

Holoboff , Joseph “Joe” Eli passed away June 15, 2008 at Bassano Hospital at the age of 83 years.
Joe was born February 7, 1925 at Brilliant, BC, the youngest of three living children, to Eli and Anna Holoboff.  When he was two, the family moved to Shouldice, Alberta.   Joe attended Shouldice School where he received all his education.  When he was finished school, Joe started farming with his father and worked as a hired hand for another farmer and later owned the BA Service Station in Shouldice.  In 1944 Joe met the love of his life, Anne Zaytsoff of Robson,

Boutland, Charles “Charlie” Woodrow passed away June 12, 2008 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 98 years.
Charlie was born August 19, 1909 at MacLeod, Alberta to Charles and Helen Boutland.  He was raised in Nanton.  Charlie was a WWII Veteran and served in the Regina Rifles Regiment. He fought overseas all throughout Europe and participated in the D Day Invasion.  Charlie was involved in the grocery store business all of his life.  The last two years he spent at Vulcan Extendicare and was lovingly cared for by all of the staff.

Fulton, Charles Edward “Charlie passed away peacefully May 13, 2008 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 96 years.
Charlie was born August 18, 1911 at Vulcan, Alberta to John and Minnie Fulton.  Upon graduating high school he continued to normal school in Calgary gaining his teaching certificate. Some of the schools Charlie taught at were Midnapore, Reid Hill and Brant where he was principal. In 1941 Charlie signed up with R.C.A.F and served overseas in England as a Radar Signal Receiver until returning home in 1945. He purchased a half of his brother Roy’s business at the

Degenstein, August Joseph passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare May 8, 2008 at the age of 94 years.
August was born on October 24, 2913 at Berwick, North Dakota to Joseph and Barbara Degenstein. When August was five years old they moved to Turin, Alberta and later to Lomond.
August joined the Royal Canadian Engineers Corp. in 1942. He married Dorothy Hummel in June, 1943. The following month he was sent overseas and served on the front lines in WWII until returning home in December 1945.  August moved his family to Warner where he worked on the Lorne McKenzie farm. Rollingson, Brian James passed away suddenly near Mossleigh, Alberta May 7, 2008 at the age of 17 years.
Beloved son of Len “Rolly” and Mayda Rollingson of Mossleigh, brother of Shauna Rollingson (Cpl. Hugh Hayes) of Wainwright, step brother of Neil (Chantel) Rollingson of Lethbridge, Dan (Stephanie) Rollingson of Coaldale, grandson of Evert (Meiny) Veldhuizen of Lethbridge, numerous relatives in Canada, England and Holland.
Memorial Service for Brian was held Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Vulcan Cultural Recreation Centre.

William Ronald “Ron”  Thompson passed away peacefully on May 6, 2008 at his home at the age of 79 years.
Ron was born January 17, 1929 on the farm at Arrowwood, Alberta to Billy and Leita Thompson.  After completing his grade 11 in Arrowwood, Ron completed his grade 12 at Mount Royal College.  He continued his education at Olds Agricultural School for one year,  finishing his schooling at SAIT. After his schooling Ron married his sweetheart Gail and they took up farming life with his parents on the family farm.
