The family of Jack Deans have lost a wonderful man. Jack passed away at Vulcan Community Health Centre on June 9, 2009 at the age of 81 years. John Wesley Deans was born in Vulcan on August 20, 1927 to John Henry and Ruth Alice Deans.
Jack is survived by Joyce, his loving wife of 60 years, his children Jacquie (Jim), Jerry-Lynn (John), James (Dawn), Joel (Cyndi) and their families, his sister Ruth Alice Deans, brother Robert Louis Deans, an extended family and a large circle of friends who loved his dearly.

Marjorie Blanche Scott passed away May 27, 2009 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 91 years.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Olive Humphrey and sister-in-law Myrna Lawrence and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predecease by her husband Jack, her children Donald and Barbara, three brothers James, Harry and George, three sisters Freda, Louise and Erna, and by her parents.
At Marjorie’s request, no service will be held.

Oberholtzer, Ralph Hubert died May 27, 2009 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 79 years.
Ralph was born December 17, 1929 at Calgary, Alberta to Fred and Alberta Oberholtzer. He attended school at Arrowwood. In conjunction with high school, Ralph had a small dairy with a milk delivery route in Arrowwood. After graduation from high school, he attended Agriculture College at Vermillion. Ralph worked in Calgary for a short time then returned to Arrowwood to farm. He married Irene Bertschy at Arrowwood in 1952. They had a dairy and raised pigs on the farm but later sold the

Louis Edward Shaw passed away May 27, 2009 at his home in Edmonton at the age of 85 years.
Louis was born on October 22, 1923 at Vulcan, youngest son of Frank and Marion Shaw. Louis grew up on the family homestead three miles west of Vulcan. He attended the Harvey School and later the Vulcan School. In 1943, Louis joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, became a trained navigator and reached London on VE Day. In 1946 he married Margaret G. Marsollier, Berthe Marie passed away May 8, 2009 at Vulcan Community Health Centre, Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 90 years.
Berthe was born On March 20th, 1919 to Alma L’Heureux and Honore (Henri)Alain of Delmas Saskatchewan. Berthe’s parents were early prairie pioneers. Her father was born in Quebec; her mother born in St. Boniface Winnipeg. When Bertha was 11 years old her parents moved to White Poplar (later renamed Veillardville) in the Hudson Bay area to homestead, where she learned to speak English with her many siblings. Haga, Omer passed away April 17, 2009 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 92 years.
Omer was born March 29, 1917 at Calgary, Alberta to Albert and Rose Haga. He attended Derry and Vulcan Schools. Omer helped out on the family farm and when he was 16, Omer moved to Crossfiled and worked at the OK Ranch for a short time. After the death of his father Albert in 1938, Omer returned home. He and his brother Lawrence helped their mother raise the family and took over the operations of the farm. Omer retired from farming at the

Blain was born on February 20, 1939 at Vulcan, Alberta to Bob and Irma (Rannels) Middleton. His early years of school were at Kirkcaldy and he finished high school in Vulcan. Blain married Lynn (Spaeth) in 1960 and they began their married life on the family farm near Kirkcaldy. He loved to farm and his joy was driving the tractor or combine.
