Norton, Laqueeda Gertrude passed away April 27, 2010 at Arrowwood, Alberta at the age of 74 years.
Laqueeda was born October 31, 1935 at Wetaskiwin, Alberta to Cornie and Rhea Versluys. She attended Champion School and graduated in 1953. Laqueeda worked for the Bank of Commerce in Champion for two years. She quit work and attended the University of Alberta, Calgary Branch, to get her teacher training. Laqueeda’s first teaching job was at Arrowwood School. She married Janus Norton of Arrowwood on August 24, 1957 and she continued to teach as a substitute teacher for many

Dick Middleton, a loving father, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his farm on July 4, 2010.

Schierman, Wesley John “Wes” passed away October 23, 2010 at the Foothills Hospital at Calgary at the age of 64 years.
Wes was born May 16, 1946 at Calgary, Alberta to John and Wilhelmina Schierman. He attended grades one to twelve in Vulcan. In 1968 he graduated from the University of Alberta in Edmonton with a Bachelor of Science degree, receiving the First Class Standing prize from the Faculty of Agriculture. On October 12, 1968 he married Lucille Gliege of Lethbridge. Wes worked for Farm and Ranch Management Consultants until December 1975 and then moved to the family farm at Vulcan,

Beloved husband of wife Loyia of Vulcan, loving father of two daughters Suzanne (Dennis) Douglas and Sheilah (Bryce) Schutte, a son Steven (Jessica) Malmberg, five grandchildren Devett, Gabriela, Kayden, Chaz, Mitchell, mother Lucy, sister Linda Rutland, four brothers Ken, Rick, Kirk, Kevin, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Daniells, Bruce Karl passed away January 19, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
Bruce was born March 20, 1928 in the Township of Maryborough near Kitchener, Ontario to Maurice and Lydia Daniells. He was one of nine children. As a young man, Bruce worked for a meat market and a shirt and shoe factory. His first love was and always remained, horses. Filled with a desire to see the Calgary Stampede, sixteen year old Bruce ventured west via CPR freight cars and later his thumb. Bruce worked in a sawmill

Marshman, Robert Reginald “Bob” passed away peacefully on July 10, 2010 at the Peter Loughead Hospital in Calgary at the age of 84 years.
Bob is survived by two nieces Marilyn Marshman, Suzanne (Bud) Grouette and great niece Amanda Grouette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Athabasca and sister-in-law Viola Marshman.
He was predeceased by three brothers in infancy, brothers William “Bud”, Harold “Jock” and sister Ruth.
Bob was born in Carmangay on December 17, 1925. He was third eldest son of Ed and Hilda Marshman. Bob was raised in the Champion area where he farmed

Sletto, Clayton Robert “Bob” passed away peacefully on October 26, 2010 at the Foothills Hospital at Calgary at the age of 57 years.
Bob was born on January 31, 1953 at Vulcan to Clayton and Betty Sletto of Champion. He attended school in Champion, High School in Vulcan and College at Olds. Bob married Marion Boll on June 24, 1978 and they had three children together, Laura, Matthew and Jill. He worked on the family farm until moving to Claresholm in 1989.

J.A. Brian Todd was the youngest son of Robert and Mae Todd, born December 2, 1928 in Vulcan. Brian attended school at Thigh Hill and Vulcan and completed his secondary education at SAIT in 1949-50 where he took a course in building construction and drafting. After completing his courses, he returned to Vulcan to farm with his Dad.
