Stephenson, William Edward “Scotty”  1943 – 2008

Stephenson, William Edward “Scotty” passed away suddenly in a tragic accident December 20, 2008 at the age of 65 years.

Scotty was born September 23, 1943 at Northumberland, England to George and Bertha Stephenson.  He received all his education in England.  After he graduated, Scotty worked on a sheep farm in England.  He immigrated to Canada on September 27, 1983 and worked with his brother George in Calgary as a sheep farm laborer.  Scotty worked with his brother for five years, then went to work for Ward Willard for a few years.  He went on to work for Murray Markert as a labourer and was with him for many years.  In 1992 Scotty met Christine McDougall and her children.  They lived together for twelve years and had a son Kyle in 1994.  They separated in 2005 but remained good friends.

Scotty was very kind to Christine and her children.  He was very patient and never expressed anger.  Scotty was a real winter person would take them all sledding.  His hobbies were watching television, especially the shows from England and reading.  One of things that he loved to do the most was go to garage sales.

Scotty is survived by Christine McDougall, his son Kyle, his step children Regina and Michael McDougall, two sisters Kathy (Jackie) Edmondson, Eileen (Ken) Gardner, step sister Peggy Morris, step brother John (Helen) Law and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother George.

Celebration of Life service January 17, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Vulcan Church of Christ with Rev. Doug Barrie officiating.
