The family of Bill Steiner of Arrowwood, AB are saddened to announce his passing at home on September 29, 2024 at the age of 90 years.
Bill was born August 3, 1934 in Arrowwood, AB, son of Walter and Edith Steiner. He was raised and educated in Arrowwood. Bill later attended Olds School of Agriculture for two years where he won an award for Highest Standing in Farm Mechanics. In 1945, he spent the winter in Calgary taking a Welder’s course. In the summer of 1954 Bill participated in an exchange trip between the F.U.A. and Scottish Association of Young Farmers where he spent most of two months on farms in Scotland and attended two major summer Livestock shows in Scotland and England.
Bill married Carol Nelson in July of 1960 in Milo. Together they raised their family of three and kept busy over the years with community activities.
Bill received his pilots license in Arrowwood and much enjoyed his flying. Bill also enjoyed tractors, Caterpillars, reading, and Tim Horton’s doughnuts. He and Carol spent countless hours at equipment shows and toy shows, museums, exhibitions, rodeos, and driving through machinery lots.
Bill and Carol moved into Arrowwood in 2003 where they enjoyed town life and continue to live, burning up the road going to the farm.
Besides his loving wife of 64 years Carol, Bill is survived by his daughter Penny (Warren) Heather, and son Lane (Marnie) Steiner, grandchildren Russel (Jackie) Heather, Deanna Heather, Mitch (Jasmine) Randle, Tracy (Curtis) Williamson, Bailey Steiner, and Clay Steiner, great-grandchildren Olivia, Hannah, and Emily Heather, sister Marjorie Malmberg, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Terry, parents Walter and Edith Steiner, and brother-in-law Graydon Malmberg.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Arrowwood Community Hall, Sue MacDonald officiating. Inurnment Arrowwood Cemetery.

We were born the same year in Arrowwood in Mrs. Lewendons nurses home, we grew up together, went to school together and farmed as neighbors all of our lives..Bill meant a lot to me and I will greatly miss him .
