SPEER, Wade Alexander 1984 – 2023

Wade Alexander Speer
June 2, 1984 – August 24, 2023

Wade passed away suddenly at the age of 39 years . He is survived by his parents Rodney and Sandra, brothers Lee and Jonathan ( Di Anne), Grandmother Jean Schuiling along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He graduated High School in Vulcan, Alberta and completed his Heavy Equipment Technician certification as well as completing Welding courses. He was never afraid of hard work and always needed to be busy.

Wade loved to travel and was quite the adventurer. He had been to Australia , New Zealand, India, Thailand, Vietnam and Mexico, where he got his Scuba Diving certificate to teach others. He always brought back stories, experiences and pictures that he would share with his family and friends.

Wade loved the outdoors and loved to bike, hike, kayak, camp and fish but did much of this on his own. He made a decision to get his dog Bruce who became his sidekick and loyal companion. They put many miles on the road together in the camper van that Wade remodeled. They took a four month long road trip into BC that ended up in Tuktoyaktuk last year. This year he decided he was going back to the Yukon to work at a gold mine. Bruce was always by his side and the two were inseparable.

He was a kind and caring soul who was always helping and thinking of others before himself. Anyone who knew Wade instantly became a friend.

He was predeceased by his Grandfather and fishing partner Charles(Chuck) Schuiling. Wade will be deeply missed but memories from the last 39 years will keep him alive in our hearts forever. We know that Wade has found peace and he is on another adventure with Bruce by his side.

There will be no funeral service as per the Family’s request.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home. Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

To the Speer family. Incredibly sorry for your loss.
I met Wade whilst working on a fruit farm in Mildura, Australia back in 2005. He was my biggest memory there. His laugh was infectious and everybody loved him. He will be fondly remembered and missed x

Rod, Sandy, Lee, Jon and Di Anne – I’m so, so, so incredibly sorry for your loss. Wade was a great guy. I haven’t seen him in quite some time, but look back very fondly on the time I spent with him and your family when we were kids! Huge smile, infectious laugh and you’d be hard pressed to find someone with a bad thing to say about Wade. He will be missed!
