Prorkseda “Pearl” Sopit passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare January 27, 1995 at the age of 87 years.

Pearl was born at Vegreville, Alberta February 18, 1907. One of six children. She married William Sopit in 1928 and together they farmed in Vegreville, Two Hills and Bonnyville. Pearl came to Vulcan in 1972 to Extendicare twenty-three years ago where she has resided since.

She was a very active, gracious, loving, caring and gentle lady who enjoyed sewing, embroidery, going for walks, camp weeks and bus trips. She was a very hard worker and when every there was work to be done, Pearl was always ready to lend a helping hand. She tackled each task with a great amount of energy that amazed all who knew her.

Beloved Mother of a daughter Mary (Ray) Davidson of Didsbury, three grandchildren and their spouses Gloria (Milton) Fielding of Thomasville, Georgia, Yvonne (David) Spreadbury of Stettler and Daniel (Catherine) Davidson of London, Ontario, three great-grandchildren Lauren and John Fielding and Brittany Davidson and a dear friend Gina Makortoff.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters and a daughter Rosie in 1990.

It’s difficult to say goodbye, to this kind and gentle lady, but we know she is in God’s loving care, and we know we know we will meet again someday. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for your kindness in your thoughts, words and deeds.

Funeral service Tuesday, January 31, 1995 at 2:30 pm. At Vulcan Extendicare with Father Stan Lasko SDS. of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church officiating. Interment in the Vulcan Cemetery. Music by Sandersons Army. Casket bearers were: Andy Brorer, Glen Schmeelke, Stuart Stangby and Cory Scholdice.
