SCHNEIDER, Susan ‘Sue’ Faye 1962 – 2024

The family of Susan ‘Sue” Faye Schneider are saddened to announce her sudden passing in Calgary on May 13, 2024 at the age of 62 years.

Susan was born March 16, 1962 in Red Deer Alberta; the youngest and tenth child of Wes and Tillie Quick. Her growing up years were spent in Red Deer, High Level, Vulcan and Champion.
On November 26th 1983, she married her high school sweet heart Fred and they spent the next forty plus years together in Vulcan; farming and raising their 3 kids Karen (Ryan) Williams, Wesley (Jessica) Schneider and Gavin (Aliya) Schneider. While raising her kids she always had an open-door policy, with many of the local kids coming and going throughout the years. She ensured that there was always plenty of food to go around and a place to sleep if needed. Susan was an exceptional cook and her Ukrainian dishes, huge turkey or roast beef dinners, delicious pies and homemade buns were enjoyed by many.

In 2020, Fred and Sue retired to a condo in downtown Calgary. Sue loved her new place. Her and Fred enjoyed many outings finding furniture and accessories to make the condo their own. A lover of hot baths, plush robes, cats, a good cup of coffee, country drives, Bruce Springsteen, her orange punch buggy, farmers markets, growing tomatoes, reality tv, flowers, feeding birds, steak dinners and spending time with family.

She cherished her grandkids Brady, Ethan, Tillie, Odelia and Audrey. Her last weekend was spent surrounded by her entire family celebrating Mothers Day. Predeceased by her parents Wes and Tillie Quick, 3 siblings and numerous extended family.

There will be a family graveside gathering, followed by a Celebration of Life for family and friends on Sunday May 26th, 2024 at 12:30 pm at the Champion Community Hall. Lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vulcan Health and Wellness Foundation Box 28, Vulcan T0L 2B0 or vchw.foundation@gmail.com.
