Lillian “Lil” Peterson formerly of Milo has lived the past 13 years at the Peter Dawson Lodge until her passing December 30, 2008 at the tender age of 97. Family and friends who have been fortunate enough to have her as part of our lives will miss her dearly.
She was married on September 12, 1936 to Conrad Peterson who predeceased her in April of 1996. Together they raised 3 children: Barry (wife Sheila), Jim (passed Jan ’02) (wife Dene) and Carol (husband Danny, passed Apr ’05) who went on to have families of their own, giving them 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Lil had a long full life with many adventures: flying, camping, and entertaining family and friends. Who’ll ever forget Grammy’s doughnuts … yum!
One thing we’ve come to understand in the last few days of reminiscing is that trying to fit 97 years into a few paragraphs is impossible. Suffice it to say that she was one awesome woman who truly enjoyed life and everything it had to offer, she was an amazing role model who’s life had a tremendous influence over many and we are grateful. Although her passing leaves us with a heavy heart, it’s comforting to know there is family and friends waiting with open arms for her on the other side.
