BEULAH DORA OLSEN, OF AIRDRIE, ALBERTA, PASSED AWAY AT THE PETER LOUGHEED CENTRE, CALGARY, ALBERTA JANUARY 11, 1997 AT THE AGE OF 90 YEARS.

BEULAH WAS BORN IN MOLD COUNTY, WASHINGTON OCTOBER 11, 1906. SHE EMIGRATED TO A HOMESTEAD IN THE KINNONDALE DISTRICT NEAR LOMOND IN 1908, THEN CAME TO THE VULCAN AREA IN 1917. IN 1929 THE FAMILY MOVED TO FARM IN THE MILO AREA. IN 1937 THEY MOVED TO RANCH NEAR LONGVIEW . DURING THE WAR YEARS BEULAH WAS ONE OF THE FIRST FEMALE TAXI DRIVERS IN CALGARY. BEULAH MOVED TO SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA WHERE SHE WORKED AS A LAB TECHNICIAN AND THEN OPERATED A BOARDING HOUSE. SHE MOVED TO AIRDRIE IN 1982 WERE SHE HAS LIVED IN HER OWN HOME SINCE.

BEULAH IS SURVIVED BY A DAUGHTER ELAINE BASE OF WASILLA, ALASKA, A SISTER—IN—LAW ALICE HAMPTON OF TURNER VALLEY, TWO NIECES AND A NEPHEW. SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER FATHER JAMES IN 1962, MOTHER GERTRUDE IN 1975, TWO BROTHERS WILLARD IN 1918 AND HOWARD.

AT BEULAH’S REQUEST THERE WILL BE AN INFORMAL GATHERING OF HER FRIENDS AT A LATER DATE. INURNMENT AT VULCAN CEMETERY FAMILY PLOT.
