Monna Harriet Hornberger passed away peacefully June 24, 2007 surrounded by her loved ones.
Monna was born May 14, 1934 to Robert and Irma Middleton in Vulcan, Alberta. She was raised on the family farm south of Vulcan with her three brothers Jack, Barry and Blaine. She attended school in the Vulcan area.
Monna married Lorne Gillette on August 2, 1952. They had 5 children; Susan, Vickie, Robert, Spencer and Pattie. Monna raised the kids on her farm northeast of Vulcan. Monna married Dick Baxter and later Bud Hornberger.
Monna’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She used to

Clarence Herbert Rhodes, life long resident of Champion, passed away June 22, 2007 at Vulcan Community Health Care Centre at the age of 91 years.
Loving father of three sons Merlin (Kathy) of Champion, Ron (Tina) of Langdon, Gordon (Cheryl) of Carmangay, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers Walter (June) of Champion, Glenn (Marion) of High River, two sisters Hazel (Stan) Lyckman of Claresholm, Doreen (Peter) Wiens of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clarence was predeceased by his wife Viola, granddaughter Linda Rhodes, a sister Mary (Elran) Nelson, two brothers Cecil (Doris) Rhodes, Leonard (Iris) Rhodes and his parents.

Vic was born December 28, 1919 at Hackney, England to John and Ivy Brown. When he was three, the family immigrated to Canada and settled around James River Bridge, Alberta. Vic attended school there and helped his dad with their small farming and logging operation. Rudy was born at Estuary, Saskatchewan, on August 21, 1918, the second youngest of twelve children of Ludwig and Maria Graff. The family moved from their Estuary homestead to Westerham, Leader, and to Mendham where Rudy attended Spire School. He married Alvena Lebsack on December 27, 1941 in Calgary, Alberta. Bette was born on July 31, 1926 at Armada, Alberta to John and Elizabeth Grant. She moved from Armada in 1938 to Vulcan where she worked at the Vulcan Post Office. Bette and her family endured the Depression beginning in 1930 but World War II had a significant impact on her life.
