Roy Dowson McLennan of Vulcan, Alberta, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away suddenly with his family at his side December 8, 2007 in Vulcan. He was 86.
Roy was born on April 18, 1921 in Fort Macleod. At the age of five his mother passed away and Roy went to live in Carling, England. At the age of eight he returned to the Pincher Creek, Alberta area and lived with his Aunt Mary and Uncle John. Roy was the youngest of three children, Jack of Pincher Creek, and Edith of Burnaby, BC.

Vernon “Vern” Stanley Mossing passed away peacefully on November 12, 2007 at his home at the age of 78 years.
Vern was born and raised on a farm near Bengough, Saskatchewan on January 14, 1929 to Emil and Evalina Mossing. Vern moved to Alberta where he began his career in road construction. He married Margaret Fox of Hardy, Saskatchewan in 1956. Together they had five children. They later divorced and Vern met and married Helen Stephenson. Together they had one child.

Marcus Bryson “Sonny” Scott of Mossleigh, Alberta passed away November 10, 2007 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 91 years.
Sonny was born February 24, 1916 at Gleichen, Alberta to Bryce and Jenny Scott. He lived and worked on the family homesteaded farm until retiring in the fall of 2005.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1997, a brother Gaylen in 1989, a sister Margaret in 2005 and his parents.

Anthony “Tony” Steven Sieben passed away November 4, 2007 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 85 years.
Tony was born May 2, 1923 at South Rosenheim, Alberta to Lorenz and Anna Sieben. Tony grew up on the family farm doing what all farm boys did at that time; milking cows, feeding pigs, walking to school and being mischievous. As he grew older, money was not plentiful so Tony and Jake Coleman rode the rails looking for work on threshing crews. James Lavern “Vern” Dunham passed away on October 29, 2007 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 73 years.
Vern was born March 12, 1934 at Carievale, Saskatchewan to John and Margery Dunham. He received all his education at Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Vern moved to Lethbridge after completing school and worked for CPR for a short time. He got into the hotel business in Lethbridge and worked at various hotels. Vern married Kay Gerla on May 14, 1969 in Lethbridge. They moved > to Edmonton in 1970 and Vern worked as a hotel manager of several hotels until his retirement

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Margaret Schuler passed away at Vulcan Extendicare on October 23, 2007 at the age of 97 years.
Gwen was born November 4, 1909 on a farm near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Nicholas and Bertha Faber. She received all her education at Sutherland, Saskatchewan. Gwen married Fredrick Carl Schuler on April 5, 1929 at Big River, Saskatchewan. After they were married, they farmed near Bodmin, Winter Lake and Lake Four, Saskatchewan. In 1957 Fred and Gwen moved to Vulcan. In 2006 Gwen moved into Vulcan Extendicare and resided there until her passing.
Gwen was fond of music and a talented organist. As

Mary Teresa McColman passed away at Vulcan Community Health Centre on October 21, 2007 at the age of 92 years.
Teresa was born January 31, 1915 at Arrowwood, Alberta to Frank and Mary (Corcoran) McInenly. She was the oldest of five children. Teresa took her schooling at Buffalo Hill School and one year at Trochu. When she finished school, Teresa worked for several of the neighbors helping to care for their children as well as cooking in the busy seasons. In 1941 Teresa married Dave McColman. They moved several times working for local farmers until Dave went to work in the

Llewellyn “Lew” “Welchy” John Hughes formerly of Milo passed away October 16, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 87 years.
Lew was born at Calgary, Alberta to John and Ellen Hughes. He was raised on the family farm west of Milo. Lew continued to farm the family farm and drove school bus from the 1940’s until his retirement. He rented out the farmland to Keith Healy for eight years, then subdivided it and sold it to Lake McGregor Estates. Lew moved to Vulcan where he married Lillian Hostetler and adopted her three children

Thelma Alison Haverty passed away September 29, 2007 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 89 years.
Thelma was born on April 19, 1918 at Shaunavan, Saskatchewan to James and Jesse Spiers. She took all her schooling at Shaunavan. Thelma married William Maurice “Bud” Haverty in April, 1939 at her home town and her first four children were born there. They moved to Vulcan in 1948 and farmed in the Reid Hill district. Their two youngest children were born at Vulcan. Thelma and Bud sold their farm in 1969 and moved with the boys to Kelowna, BC. They
