Albert West, formerly of Lomond, Alberta, passed away at the Brentwood Care Centre, Calgary, on March 22, 2008 at the age of 88 years.
Albert will be dearly missed by his wife of sixty-three years Helen, three sons Ken (Sharon), Les (Karen) and David (Patty), grandchildren Brad (Vanessa), Marla (Neville), Elizabeth (Kevin), Jared, Shannon, Nathan, Tessa, Catrina and Adam, great grandchildren Tyler, Jeremy, Walter, Maya and Margaret, numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was predeceased by his mother Edith Wood in 1922 (Albert was only 3 at the time), his father Herbert in 1960, two brothers John in 2002 and Herbie in 2000

Dave Smith, youngest son of David and Catherine (McDougall) passed away on March 21, 2008.
Dave leaves to celebrate his life, wife Julie and daughters Dawn Gass, Doneva (Richard Robinson) Smith , Danielle (Scott) Jantzie and Danette Smith, two grandchildren Matt and Nikki Gass.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jim, sisters Madge, Agnes and Ina and one daughter Della Rose.
Dave was born near Manville at Saltaux, Alberta – his father was a farmer and carpenter. His mother died when he was a baby. He left home early and joined the Army serving with the 14th Army Tank Battalion Calgary

Jean passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Hospital at the spry age of 80 years young. She was born in High River on July 18, 1927.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Bill, her sons Scott and Barry, grandchildren Amber and Landon., her sister Dorothy “Dot” of High River and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her mother and father Gertrude and Harry Forrest of Aldersyde, sister Ruth Eaton of Medicine Hat and twin brother Gerald Forrest of Seattle.

GAY, Kenneth “Ken” Bernard 1937 – 2008

Bernard Kenneth “Ken” Gay passed away March 17, 2008 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 70 years.
Ken is survived by one brother Milton (Mary) Gay, one niece and one nephew all of BC and numerous cousins. Ken will be sadly missed by all especially by his cousin Olive (Ron) Gorzitza of Barons.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Vulcan Extendicare with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.

Helen Teresa McCallum passed away March 1, 2008 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 82 years.
Helen was born at Possilpark, Scotland September 11, 1925 to John and Helen Travers. She attended school at Glasgow until the age of fourteen when she began working as a seamstress for the Midland Railway making uniforms. Helen worked there until moving to Calgary to marry Wray Willis McCallum in December 1946. Together they raised their family on the family farm in the Queenstown area until retiring and moving to Vulcan in 1993. Helen moved into Extendicare in 2003 and has resided there since.

Holm, Theodore “Ted” passed away peacefully on February 21, 2008 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 92 years.
Ted was born on June 13, 1915 at Champion, Alberta to Peter and Edna Holm. He received all his schooling at Champion and helped on the family farm. When he finished his schooling, Ted went to work for the municipality driving a grader. During the war years he operated heavy equipment at the Vulcan Airport and then at the airport at Fort St. John. Ted was also musical and played saxophone in a local band. Janina was predeceased by her husband Janis in 2005, her son Arvids “John” in 2007 and her parents.
