Hofer, Joseph K. passed away quietly while doing what he loved best on February 26, 2009 at the age of 81 years.
Joseph was the cow boss for nine years and the German Teacher / in charge of the garden for twenty-nine years.

Love, Heather Janette beloved wife of the late Allen Kenneth Love passed away peacefully February 20, 2009 at Vulcan Extendicare, at the age of 70 years.
Heather was born January 20, 1939 at Carmangay, Alberta to Richard and Gertrude Fraser. In 1965 she married Allen Love and had two daughters Cathy and Debby. Due to health problems Heather moved to the Ridgeview Lodge at Raymond. From there she moved to Fort Macleod for a short time and then to Vulcan Extendicare in 2007.
In the early years Heather enjoyed camping with family and friends and playing cards. She also loved to crochet

BEXTE, Margaret Patricia 1944 – 2009

Bexte, Margaret Patricia passed away suddenly at home in Mossleigh, Alberta February 19, 2009 at the age of 64 years.
Margaret was born September 23, 1944 at Lethbridge, Alberta to Gordon and Patricia Murdoch. She married Reno Bexte at Calgary in 1962 and they lived in Arrowwood. In 1965 they moved to Mossleigh and have resided there since.

Anderson, Cathy Arlene passed away peacefully February 16, 2009 at the Tom Baker Cancer Center at Calgary at the age of 45 years.
Cathy was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta on March 23, 1963 where she began life on a cattle ranch. Cathy and her family later moved to Calgary where she completed her education. She trained to become a cook and worked throughout Southern Alberta. Cathy met Larry Chase while living in Strathmore. The couple became a three person family when their son Michael was born. They later moved south and settled in Champion where Cathy operated a restaurant. The
MENSINGER, Lawrence Frederick 1929 – 2009

Lawrence Frederick Mensinger, formerly of Vulcan, passed away at Red Deer Nursing Home February 15, 2009 at the age of 79 years.
Lawrence was born October 7, 1929 on the family farm 12 miles northeast of Vulcan to Fred and Viola Mensinger. He attended Sandpit and Vulcan Schools. The family moved in to Vulcan in 1938. Lawrence began driving at the early age of 15 and drove gas truck and school bus and at the age of 17. He then purchased his first gravel truck and went to work for the Vulcan Municipality. Lawrence operated his own trucks for many years.
SOKVITNE, Kenneth Olaf 1921 – 2009

Kenneth Olaf Sokvitne, beloved husband of Florence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 87.
Ken was born in Lomond on June 4, 1921. He rode his horse each day to the Snake Valley School and then farmed with his dad until he joined the army in 1942. He did his military training in Vancouver and Tofino, B.C., was stationed overseas in Britain, Holland and Belgium and was discharged in 1946 then continued farming with his brothers.

SEALOCK, Birdella Alberta 1917 – 2009

Birdella Alberta Sealock formerly of the Armada district passed away peacefully at Vulcan Community Health Centre February 6, 2009 at the age of 91 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her five children Ken (Marie) of Milo, Bill (Maxine) of Kamloops, B.C., Glenda (Ron) of Jupiter, Florida, Donna (Jack) of Brooks, Don (Del) of Medicine Hat, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a sister Laverne Schlaht of Lomond, numerous nieces and nephews.
Birdella was predeceased by her husband Glenn, her parents Vern and Blanche Williams, sisters Eileen Donley and Melba Williams.

LEADBEATER, Roy David 1964 – 2009

Roy David Leadbeater passed away suddenly at Vulcan Community Health Centre January 31, 2009 at the age of 44 years.
Roy was born August 31, 1964 at Vulcan, Alberta the second son of Walter and Lois Leadbeater. He was raised on the family farm at Sholdice, Alberta and attended Arrowwood and Vulcan Schools. During school, Roy worked at the County of Vulcan repair shop for work experience, and after he graduated, he continued working for the County shop as their “tire guy”. Roy apprenticed for four years through SAIT in Calgary and received his Heavy Duty Diesel Technician certification in 1992.
