Gwen was born at Chinook, Alberta to William and Nellie Short. Gwen met and married Bruce McKay. Together they farmed and raised their three children in the Reid Hill District and later moved into Vulcan. Following Bruce’s passing in 1970, Gwen moved to Calgary. She met and married Ed Coskey in 1974. After Ed’s passing in 2005, Gwen moved back to Vulcan into the Wheat Country apartments, then the Peter Dawson Lodge and finally Vulcan Extendicare.
Over the years Gwen enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling, painting and later doing many handy crafts with her grandchildren.

Clara was born July 5, 1912 at Queenstown, Alberta to Margaret and Aleck Johnson. Nelson, She passed away March 31, 2010 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 97 years. Clara took all her schooling at Queenstown and in 1930, married Nels Nelson, where they raised their five children. She loved to knit and crochet, many gifts her family now enjoy.
